Walk Your Child to School Day, October 7

Faber School

John P. Faber Elementary School students, parents, staff and volunteers will be walking in the 16th Annual International Walk Your Child to School Day on October 7 starting at 7:30 a.m.

Participants will meet up at two main starting points, St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church and Columbia Park, and travel together using safety tips they have learned. There will be giveaways for all participating students. The event is co-sponsored by Safe Kids Middlesex County Coalition which is led by Dunellen resident Diana J. Starace. Middlesex County seeking Teams for Annual Youth Basketball Tournament

The Middlesex County Office of Parks & Recreation is seeking teams for its annual Board of Chosen Freeholders’ Basketball Tournament, which starts in early March. Games are played Monday through Thursday at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. and will be held at the Middlesex County Vocational-Technical School located at 21 Sutton Lane in Piscataway. The tournament consists of four divisions:
Youth Division #1: (Boys and Girls ages 10 and under)
Youth Division #2: (Boys and Girls ages 12 and under)
Youth Division #3: (Boys and Girls ages 13 and 14)
Youth Division #4: (Boys and Girls ages 15 to 17)
Age cutoff is Oct. 31. Teams must have a minimum of five, but no more than 20, participants. Continue Reading →
