|
The official results from the Middlesex County Board of Elections are in. The school bonding proposal was approved, 463 to 230. This will now allow the Dunellen School District to undertake the renovation and upgrades of Dunellen’s three schools, and expend and issue bonds to the amount not to exceed $23,800,000.00 in order to fund the project. Approval of the question also permits the Board of Education to use $5,827,996 of the $10,322,280 borrowing margin of the Borough of Dunellen. Residents to vote on Dunellen School Facilities Enhancements Project
|
A special school election will be held on Tuesday, December 10 from 6am to 8pm at Lincoln Middle School and the Dunellen Firehouse. On the ballot is only one public question, whether or not to allow the Dunellen Board of Education (BOE) to undertake the renovation and upgrades of Dunellen’s three schools, and expend and issue bonds to the amount not to exceed $23,800,000.00 in order to fund the project. Approval of the question would permit using up $5,827,996 of the $10,322,280 borrowing margin of the Borough of Dunellen. If the proposal passes, the State of New Jersey would also provide debt service aid to cover 57.03% of the total project’s cost of $31.3million. Promotional materials posted on the Dunellen school district’s website encouraging the approval of the proposed funding strategy tout “zero tax impact for the construction and renovations.” Continue Reading →

There are four candidates vying for two Dunellen Borough Council positions. Because current Council President Kenneth Baudendistel (R) is not seeking re-election, there is only one incumbent candidate, Jeremy Lowder (R), who was initially elected in 2015. The other three candidates, April Burke (D), David DeNapoli (R), and Stacy Narvesen (D) are running for the first time as council candidates. For more information regarding the candidates, check out their Facebook pages. DemocratRepublican

Middlesex County Freeholder Candidates – 2017 | Personal Statements
|
Alphabetical Order
Roger Daily (R)
I would like to put an end to one party control of Middlesex County Board of Freeholders. For the past 21 years this one party control has resulted in continuous tax increases and wasteful spending. One good example is the Middlesex County Business administrator John Pulomena who is being paid $231,232.00 per year. He is the highest paid county administrator in the state. We need to end patronage payments to former freeholders like John Pulomena but it will only end if Republicans are elected to the Middlesex County Board of Freeholders. Continue Reading →

I have called Dunellen my home since 1988. My children were born at Muhlenburg Regional Medical Center and benefited from the Dunellen public school system. I became involved in town functions when my oldest daughter was four years old. From coaching T-ball, running the T-ball League, coaching girls softball, and also serving as president of the Dunellen Little League. It has been my pleasure to have served this community and an honor to have worked alongside other Dunellen residents who gave so freely of their time as well. Continue Reading →
