She was brought to Middlesex and Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober friend. On 11/29/2018, a Elizabeth resident was charged with theft by deception, deceptive business practices, and theft of movable property following investigation into an incident reported on 11/19/2018 of a Dunellen resident who was the victim of fraud over three years. He was sent a court appearance notice. On 11/28/2018 at 3:01 pm, police responded to Bound Brook Road for the report of a motor vehicle crash rollover with serious injuries and entrapment. There are four candidates vying for two Dunellen Borough Council positions. Because current Council President Kenneth Baudendistel (R) is not seeking re-election, there is only one incumbent candidate, Jeremy Lowder (R), who was initially elected in 2015. The other three candidates, April Burke (D), David DeNapoli (R), and Stacy Narvesen (D) are running for the first time as council candidates. Dunellen Halloween Parade to Have New Route

The Dunellen Halloween Parade will have a different route this year. For decades, the parade snaked through downtown and ended in Washington Park. However, this year, the event which is in its seventieth year, will instead be starting in Washington Park with registration starting at noon on Sunday, October 28. In order to participate in the costume contest, residents must register prior to the start of the parade. At 1 p.m., revelers will march down Washington Avenue to Columbia Park where the parade will loop one time around the track. Continue Reading →

On 9/30/2018 at 11:31 pm, a Dunellen resident and a Scotch Plains resident were arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue. The Dunellen resident was found to have a warrant out of Dunellen; the Scotch Plains resident, a warrant out of Plainfield. Both were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing. The Dunellen resident was released after posting bail and the Scotch Plains resident was turned over to the Plainfield Police Department. On 8/30/2018, a South Carolina resident was charged with burglary and theft following investigation into an incident on 5/5/2018 where several portable radios were stolen from the Dunellen Rescue Squad. He was issued a court appearance notice. On 8/30/2018 at 11:49 am, a Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed by police on Bound Brook Road. Because he had active warrants out of Dunellen, Bound Brook, Plainfield, and North Plainfield as well as a no-bail warrant from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail on Dunellen’s warrant. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member. On 7/28/2018 at 1:40 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed by patrol in Middlesex Borough and known to have a warrant for his arrest out of Dunellen. After receiving a new court date, custody was transferred to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office for charges in a separate matter. Track Phenom Sydney McLaughlin has gone pro

Sports Business Daily has reported that Dunellen’s most famous track and field athlete Sydney McLaughlin has signed with talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME). The agency not only represents Hollywood actors and bestselling authors, but also represents professional athlete including McLaughlin’s idol, six-time Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix. After her appearance at the NCAA Championships in June, McLaughlin announced that she would be ending her college eligibility status after just one year, foregoing her final three years of eligibility at the University of Kentucky.
