Dunellen Police Report | July 2019

On 7/31/2019 at 5:30 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with driving while suspended for DWI following investigation into a motor vehicle stop on 7/21/2019. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. On 7/30/2019, a Piscataway resident was charged with theft of movable property following investigation into an incident reported on 6/20/19 outside of a North Avenue business. He was sent his charges at the Union County Jail where he is currently detained on unrelated charges. Dunellen Police Report | June 2019

On 6/29/2019 at 9:14 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. Staff members reported that a man had entered the store and removed several items. When confronted, he fled on foot towards Plainfield prior to police arrival. On 6/28/2019 at 11:29 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop. She was found to have a warrant for her arrest out of Green Brook and was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail. On 6/25/2019 at 9:07 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with several counts of aggravated sexual assault following investigation into a walk-in report at headquarters. Classic Movie Screenings at East Jersey Old Town Village

Step back in time to the 1950s with free film screenings at the East Jersey Old Town Village. To celebrate the village’s extended hours throughout the summer (open until 8 pm on Thursdays in June, July and August), movies will be shown on July 18, August 8 and August 22. All showings begin at 5:30 pm at the Indian Queen Tavern. Dunellen Police Report | May 2019

On 5/30/2019 at 12:08 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. Staff reported a female juvenile entering the store the day prior and stealing several items. This case remains open. On 5/29/2019 at 7:43 pm, police responded to the intersection of North and Washington for the report of a vehicle which had struck a building, causing significant damage, and then fled. With the assistance of Plainfield Police Department, they were able to locate the fleeing driver, a Plainfield resident. He was charged with driving while intoxicated in their jurisdiction. Dunellen Police Report | April 2019

On 4/30/2019 at 11:45 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop at the Plainfield border. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member. On 4/27/2019 at 11:03 pm, a South Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of a North Avenue business. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Rahway. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date. Continue Reading →

Dunellen Police Report | March 2019

On 3/30/2019 at 11:57 pm, a Somerset resident was arrested and charged with possession of under 50g marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers were called to a suspicious incident on First Street. Three juvenile males were also charged in relation to this incident. All parties were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters and released with court notices after processing. On 3/29/2019 at 12:25 pm, police received a walk-in report of mail fraud. The victim reported U.S. money orders which were placed in a mail drop box but never received by the intended recipient. 2019 Dunellen Curbside Recycling Schedule

In 2019, Dunellen residents will have curbside recycling pickups every other Wednesday by the Middlesex County Improvement Authority (MCIA). All curbside recyclable items, such as bottles, cans, paper and small flat cardboard can be mixed together in a single recycling container as they are kept separate from trash. New this year is a recycling app called Recycling Coach which is available in both Apple and Google app stores. It provides a personalized recycling calendar and additional guidance. Dunellen Council Holds Reorganization Meeting

The Dunellen Borough Council held its annual government reorganization meeting on January 1. Mayor Bob Seader began the meeting with his municipal address, covering the accomplishments in the past year and plans for the new year. He thanked former council members Kenneth Baudendistel and Jeremy Lowder for their service to the Dunellen community. Baudendistel, who had been a councilperson for nearly two decades, many of those years as council president, had not sought reelection. Dunellen Police Report | December 2018

On 12/29/2018 at 3:16 pm, police responded to Fourth Street for the report of credit card fraud. The victim reported fraudulent charges made at a retail store. On 12/29/2018 at 12:51 pm, police responded to North Avenue for the report of burglary and criminal mischief to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had smashed the front windshield to his work vehicle, slashed several tires, and stole several hundred dollars worth of tools.
