2021 Dunellen Curbside Recycling Schedule

In 2021, Dunellen residents will continue to have curbside recycling pickups every other Wednesday by the Middlesex County Improvement Authority (MCIA). As in recent years, the updated informational brochure is available only via a downloadable pdf file. All curbside recyclable items, such as bottles, cans, paper and small flat cardboard can be mixed together in a single recycling container as they are kept separate from trash. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, members of the Dunellen Borough Council, and Borough staff. I first wish to extend to you and yours a happy and healthy New Year! Thankfully, we all have the good fortune of continuing to be connected with the great Borough of Dunellen, and I look forward to continuing to work with the following members of the Borough Council into 2021: Jessica Dunne, who is now serving her second term; April Burke; Stacy Narvesen; Daniel Cole Sigmon; and Trina Rios. I also welcome our newest Councilperson, Tremayne Reid, who serves as Dunellen’s first African-American representative elected to the Borough Council. Free Activity Pages – Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” Movie

The Walt Disney Studios has made Disney and Pixar’s ONWARD available to buy digitally and on Movies Anywhere. It will be available on Disney+ on April 3rd. The film had recently opened at the Dunellen Theatre on March 6. Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 international health crisis, the theater needed to close its doors to the public (the adjoining Zupko’s Tavern which provides the theater with its dine-in menu is still open for take-out orders). Dunellen Police Report | February, 2020

On 2/27/2020 at 6:05 pm, a New York resident was arrested and charged with offering prostitution following execution of a search warrant at a North Avenue business after an investigation by the Dunellen Detective Bureau assisted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date. On 2/27/2020 at 6:05 pm, a Pennsylvania resident was arrested and charged with offering prostitution following execution of a search warrant at a North Avenue business after an investigation by the Dunellen Detective Bureau assisted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date. On 2/25/2020 at 12:01 am, a Bound Brook resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road in which he was a passenger. Continue Reading →

School Bonding Approved by Dunellen Voters

The official results from the Middlesex County Board of Elections are in. The school bonding proposal was approved, 463 to 230. This will now allow the Dunellen School District to undertake the renovation and upgrades of Dunellen’s three schools, and expend and issue bonds to the amount not to exceed $23,800,000.00 in order to fund the project. Approval of the question also permits the Board of Education to use $5,827,996 of the $10,322,280 borrowing margin of the Borough of Dunellen. The State of New Jersey will provide debt service aid to cover 57.03% of the total project’s cost of $31.3million. Continue Reading →
