Dunellen Police Report | November, 2020

On 11/29/2020, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with witness tampering and persons prohibited from weapons possession following investigation into an incident on 10/20/2020. He was extradited from New York, brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing, and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.

On 11/29/2020 at 2:12 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Front Street. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober friend.

On 11/28/2020 at 11:31 pm, a Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober friend.

On 11/26/2020 at 2:32 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The juvenile provided officers with a fictitious name and date of birth to avoid summons for driving unlicensed. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a family member.

On 11/26/2020 at 2:14 am, a South Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit breath samples following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing where he refused to provide breath samples. He was later released to a sober family member.

On 11/25/2020 at 10:52 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. She was found to have warrants out of Newark, Roselle Park, Scotch Plains, and Edison. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving new court dates.

On 11/25/2020 at 7:56 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Front Street. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member.

On 11/25/2020 at 9:03 am, police responded to Madison Avenue for the report of theft. The victim reported that she had set out several bags of items to be donated on her front porch the night prior. At approximately 2 am, surveillance footage showed an unknown woman with a headlamp taking the items.

On 11/24/2020 at 10:38 am, police received a walk-in report of harassment. The victim, a Dunellen resident, reported receiving a series of harassing phone calls.

On 11/23/2020 at 5:33 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. Staff relayed that a male had entered the store and began concealing several items from the store. When confronted by staff, he threatened them physical harm and then fled on foot with the stolen items.

On 11/18/2020 at 4:08 pm, police responded to Dunellen Avenue for the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that their two unlocked vehicles had been entered the prior night and items including U.S. currency were missing from the two vehicles.

On 11/18/2020 at 7:37 am, police responded to New Market Road for the report of criminal mischief. The victim(s) reported that three vehicles in their driveway had all of the tires slashed overnight. They believed they knew who the suspect was and that this was not a random attack.

On 11/17/2020 at 11:41 pm, a Plainfield resident, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit breath samples following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing where he refused to provide breath samples. He was later turned over to a sober family member.

On 11/16/2020 at 6:25 pm, police responded to Columbia Street for the report terroristic threats. The victim reported receiving several threatening social media messages.

On 11/14/2020 at 4:46 pm, police responded to New Market Road for the report of simple assault. Both parties were explained the procedure for signing complaints with the court.

On 11/12/2020 at 5:06 pm, police responded to North Avenue Extension for the report of theft. The victim reported that her delivery of groceries was stolen from her front porch.

On 11/11/2020 at 10:06 pm, a Highland Park resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have a warrant out of the Union County Sheriff’s Office. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.

On 11/8/2020 at 1:26 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Ave. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member.

On 11/7/2020 at 11:42 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member.

On 11/7/2020, a Piscataway resident was charged with theft of mislaid property following investigation into a wallet theft at a North Avenue business on 10/29/2020. He was observed on surveillance footage taking the wallet after it fell out of the victim’s pocket. He was mailed a court appearance notice.

On 11/3/2020 at 11:29 pm, police responded to South Washington Avenue near Orange Street for the report of a passenger in a motor vehicle who had overdosed on heroin. Police found the victim, a South Plainfield resident, unconscious and not breathing. Police administered Narcan Naloxone and performed several rounds of CPR before the victim regained consciousness. Care was transferred to the Dunellen Rescue Squad and ALS for transport to the hospital. Several folds of heroin and hypodermic needles were secured at the scene.

On 11/1/2020 at 6:15 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police were called to a vehicle which had driven onto the sidewalk on Dunellen Avenue with the operator asleep behind the wheel. He was transported to RWJ New Brunswick for processing and released to the care of medical staff.

On 11/1/2020 at 3:33 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop. He was found to have warrants out of East Orange and Union Township. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with new court dates.
