Dunellen Police Report | June 2018

On 6/26/2018 at 7:02 pm – Police responded to Second Street for the report of a stolen firearm. The victim reported that an unknown person had stolen a firearm from the residence. This case remains open.

On 6/26/2018 at 3:34 pm – Police responded to Prospect Avenue for the report of several backpack blowers which had been stolen from a landscaping company working in the area.

On 6/26/2018 at 12:10 pm – Police took a walk-in report of harassment.

On 6/26/2018 – A North Plainfield resident was charged with shoplifting following investigation into an incident at a North Avenue business on 6/3/2018.

On 6/23/2018 at 12:32 am – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed by officers and known to have warrants for his arrest out of Dunellen. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.

On 6/22/2018 at 2:52 pm – Police responded to Front Street for the report of a package theft. This incident remains open.

On 6/19/2018 – A Cliffside Park resident was charged with terroristic threats and harassment following a walk-in report at Dunellen Police Headquarters. She was issued a court appearance date.

On 6/16/2018 at 5:22 pm – Police responded to the Dunellen Train Station for the report of a bicycle theft which occurred sometime during the day. The victim reported that the lock to her blue and white Schwinn bike had been forced open and the bicycle stolen.

On 6/16/2018 at 12:53 am – A Piscataway resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of New Brunswick. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.

On 6/15/2018 at 9:35 pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. Investigation revealed that he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Cranbury. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.

On 6/15/2018 at 2:15 pm – Police received an automatic license plate reader hit for a stolen vehicle found parked on High Street. The vehicle was secured and turned over to Highland Park Police Department for processing.

On 6/13/2018 at 7:20 pm – Police received a walk-in report of a bicycle theft which occurred during the day at the Dunellen Train Station. The victim reported that the lock to his black BMX bike had been forced open and the bicycle stolen.

On 6/13/2018 at 7:04 pm – Police received a walk-in report of a bicycle theft which occurred during the day at the Dunellen Train Station. The victim reported that the lock to his blue and black Kent Trailblazer had been forced open and the bicycle stolen.

On 6/10/2018 – An Elizabeth resident was charged with hindering apprehension and false reports to police following investigation into an incident on 5/25/2018. She was issued a court appearance date.

On 6/10/2018 at 2:33 am – An Edison resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Dunellen Avenue. He was found to have warrants for his arrest out of Plainfield and South Bound Brook. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.

On 6/9/2018 at 10:43 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a bicycle stop on North Ave. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Bound Brook. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.

On 6/9/2018 at 1:35 am – A Piscataway resident was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have warrants for his arrest out of Plainfield and North Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.

On 6/8/2018 at 10:42 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with Shoplifting after investigation into an incident at a North Avenue business on 6/6/2018. He was processed at Dunellen Police Headquarters and released with a court date.

On 6/6/2018 at 9:27 am – A North Plainfield resident was arrested for aggravated assault,terroristic threats, and contempt of court following investigation into an incident on 6/1/2018. He was processed at Dunellen Police Headquarters and posted bail on a warrant from Bloomfield before being released with a court date.

On 6/6/2018 at 1:21 am – Police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. This case remains open.

On 6/6/2018 at 12:25 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue at the Plainfield border. Mr. Ramirez was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Piscataway. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.

On 6/4/2018 at 3:13 am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50g following a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of a North Avenue business. With the assistance of Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, the contraband was located in his vehicle. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.

On 6/3/2018 at 6:53 am – Police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. This case remains open.

On 6/3/2018 at 9:18 am – Police responded to McCoy Park for the report of theft and criminal mischief. The investigation revealed that an unknown person had broken into the snack shack and stolen a cash register and candy.

On 6/2/2018 – A Piscataway resident was charged with shoplifting following investigation into an incident on 5/13/2018. He was issued a court date.

On 6/2/2018 at 12:45 am – A Piscataway resident was arrested for disorderly conduct following police response to a North Washington Avenue business for the report of a patron threatening customers with a broken bottle. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.

On 6/1/2018 at 9:21 pm – A Garwood resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, possession of a Schedule IV drug (two counts), possession of a prescription legend drug without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled substance following police response to a suspicious person near North and Jackson Avenues. Additionally, she was found to have active warrants for her arrest out of Garwood, East Brunswick, Kenilworth, Roselle, Newark, and Piscataway. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital after receiving new court dates.

On 6/1/2018 at 2:25 pm – Police responded to North Avenue business for the report of harassment.
