Lt. Gov. Guadagno to visit Dunellen

New Jersey’s first Lieutenant Governor, Kim Guadagno will be in Dunellen this Saturday.

The Dunellen Republican Organization (DRO) is hosting a Meet & Greet with the gubernatorial candidate on May 13 from 2:30-4:30 PM at the Dunellen Arts Annex on 131 North Washington Avenue. The event, organized primarily by Dunellen Councilman Jason Cilento, is open to Dunellen residents. However, according to the organization’s Facebook page, seating is limited.

Guadagno currently has a double-digit lead over her closest competitor in the Republican Party’s primary race. Several DRO members were among the first in the state to publicly support her candidacy.

DRO Chairman Harry J. Buttito, Jr. explained what the organization hoped to accomplish with the event. “The governor’s race is very important to the residents of Dunellen. The Mayor, Council, and Committee felt the need to bring the next Governor of New Jersey to our humble borough to meet the people and spread her message of real property tax relief. Lt. Gov Kim Guadagno is the only one running who has the necessary experience to run this state. She is an independent minded individual and the most transparent politician in Trenton.”

According to Buttito, the last time a gubernatorial candidate came to Dunellen was in 2001, when Brett Schundler visited during the Railroad Days celebration.
