Two Middlesex County women were injured on Friday, February 24 when their vehicles collided during the evening’s rush hour.
The accident occurred at 5:37 PM at the intersection of First Street and North Washington Avenue. According to Dunellen Police Sergeant Jeffrey Del Buono, a Dunellen resident driving a 2013 Hyundai, east on First Street failed to stop at the stop sign on First Street and North Washington Avenue. An Edison resident driving south on North Washington Avenue in a 2016 Subaru collided into the Hyundai. The Hyundai was thrust forward, hitting a telephone pole located near Washington Park’s event sign.
Both drivers sustained injuries and were sent to Level I Trauma Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) in New Brunswick. The investigation is still pending. Any further information can be forwarded to Sergeant Del Buono of the Traffic Safety Division, 732-968-3000.
