On 2/27/2017 at 11:45 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop. He gave a false name and was also found to have warrants out of Plainfield and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. After being processed at Dunellen Police Headquarters and issued a court date, he was then transferred to the custody of the Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.
On 2/27/2017 at 2:42 pm – Patrol responded to the Dunellen High School for an activated fire alarm. After no fire was found, an investigation with school officials of the security footage was conducted. The video showed a student activating the alarm pull station. The student was identified and charged with causing false public alarm.
On 2/24/2017 at 2:25 am – A female Dunellen resident and a male Philadelphia resident were both arrested and charged with obstructing the administration of law. Police were called to a Prospect Avenue residence for the report of a fight. The subjects attempted to close the door of the residence on the responding officers, capturing one of the officers in the doorway, and continued to try and close the door. Once the officer broke free from being pinned in the doorway, both subjects were placed under arrest. Additionally, the Dunellen resident was found to have warrants out of Bridgewater and Manville. She was issued new court dates on the warrants and both parties were released with a court date in Dunellen after processing.
On 2/24/2017 at 12:21 am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana following an investigation into a suspicious vehicle parked in a business parking lot on Front Street. Arriving patrol observed the man actively using marijuana in the vehicle. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 2/23/2017 at 2:55 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Jackson Avenue. She was found to have an active warrant for her arrest out of Plainfield. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 2/25/2017 at 1:42 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on West Fourth Street. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield, brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing, and later turned over to the Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.
On 2/24/2017 at 2:37 pm – Police responded to Dunellen Avenue for the report of an unresponsive female in a vehicle. Officers and responding medical personnel observed signs of a possible heroin overdose and administered two doses of Narcan to the patient. The Hillsborough resident did regain consciousness and was turned over to EMS for transport to the hospital.
On 2/18/2017 at 11:08 am – Police responded to Faber Elementary School for the report of an unresponsive female. Officers found a Dunellen resident with signs of a possible overdose. Three doses of Narcan were administered. The patient regained consciousness and was turned over to EMS for transport to the hospital.
On 2/19/2017 at 12:40 am – A Somerville resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue. Because he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Burlington City, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a new court date.
On 2/18/2017 at 8:32 pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Route 28. He was found to have an active warrant out of Plainsboro. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 2/18/2017 at 1:45 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober party.
On 2/17/2017 at 8:52 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for hindering apprehension and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. During the stop, he provided a fictitious name knowing that he had several warrants for his arrest. Those warrants were out of Carteret, Fanwood, and Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Carteret Police Department on their warrant.
On 2/16/2017 at 2:35 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. After an investigation revealed that he had an active warrant for his arrest out of the Union County Sheriff’s Office, he was taken to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
On 2/15/2017 at 4:00 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested for fraudulent use of a credit card and contempt of court following an investigation into an incident which occurred in August, 2016. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 2/12/2017 at 12:50 am – A Bound Brook resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated and underage possession/consumption of alcohol following a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle driving recklessly on North Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober party.
On 2/11/2017 at 11:55 am – A South Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and possession of marijuana under 50 grams after police were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle on North Avenue. During the investigation, he provided a fictitious spelling of his name and attempted to conceal drugs from officers by tossing them under the vehicle. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 2/9/2017 at 11:18 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with shoplifting, hindering apprehension, and false reports to a police officer. Employees at a North Avenue business reported a shoplifting incident. Police quickly located a vehicle and suspect matching descriptions given by the staff on New Market Road. The suspect gave officers a false name and pedigree information and was found to be in possession of items which had been stolen from the business. She was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transferred to the Middlesex County Jail on the charges.
On 2/8/2017 at 11:57 pm – A Green Brook resident was arrested and charged with unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, possession of CDS (heroin), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, contempt of court and fugitive from justice. Police initially responded to the report of a stolen vehicle on Bound Brook Road. The vehicle was recovered on Front Street along with information identifying the suspect who was known by the victim. Further investigation revealed the suspect had warrants out of Newark as well as a no-bail warrant out of Montgomery County, PA. Police canvassed the area and eventually located the suspect, taking her into custody without incident. She was processed, given court dates for the Dunellen and Newark charges, and was transferred the Middlesex County Jail awaiting extradition on the warrant from Pennsylvania.
On 2/8/2017 at 5:36 pm – Several hours after Dunellen Police took a report regarding a vehicle stolen from Front Street, Piscataway Police recovered the vehicle on West Fourth Street. The vehicle was impounded to be returned to its rightful owner. Anyone with further information, please contact Detective Brian O’Neill, ext. 243.
On 2/8/2017 at 2:25 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after responding to Dunellen Police Headquarters to retrieve her impounded vehicle. Known to have an active warrant for her arrest out of Plainfield, she was processed and released after posting bail.
On 2/8/2017 at 12:18 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct following an incident on Bound Brook Road. Police were initially responding to a nearby apartment for an individual needing medical attention. Upon seeing officers, the woman began to cause a scene, yelling obscenities at the officers and physically interfering to the point that it was disrupting the medical attention. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 2/6/2017 at 8:02 am – An Elizabeth resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop for an equipment violation on North Avenue. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Bradley Beach Borough, brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing, and released after posting bail.
On 2/5/2017 at 1:45 am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Police were initially called to a motor vehicle accident with a fleeing party. The investigation revealed an assault had taken place regarding an alleged narcotics transaction that had preceded the motor vehicle accident. He was processed and released with a court date.
On 2/4/2017 at 11:16 pm – Two Plainfield residents were arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop. One was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Plainfield and the other, an active arrest warrant out of North Plainfield. Both were taken to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and the man with the Plainfield warrant was released after posting bail. The other man was turned over to the North Plainfield Police Department.
On 2/3/2017 at 11:44 pm – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue. The drugs were located packaged for sale in a false bottom container and he was found to be in possession of a large amount of currency. He was processed and released with a court date.
On 2/1/2017 at 9:46 pm – Police responded to Center Street for the report of a burglary to a residence. An investigation revealed that an unknown person had forced their way into the rear door of the residence and ransacked the home, taking an as of yet undetermined amount of belongings. On 2/1/2017 at 3:28 am – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Columbia Street when he was found to have a no-bail warrant out of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transferred to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 2/1/2017 at 12:58 am – A Washington resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue because of an active warrant out of Point Pleasant Beach. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
