Dunellen Police Report | December 2016

On 12/26/2016 at 8:35 pm – A Manville resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue. An investigation revealed that the driver had an active arrest warrant out of Union Township. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.

On 12/21/2016 at 1:13 am – A Piscataway resident was placed under arrest for contempt Of court following a motor vehicle stop on Route 28. Police stopped his vehicle after learning the vehicle had an expired registration. An investigation revealed the driver was unlicensed and had an arrest warrant out of Piscataway. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently released after posting cash bail.

On 12/13/2016, at 4:00 pm – A Plainfield resident was placed under arrest and transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters after initially being arrested by Plainfield Police Department. He had an outstanding warrant in the amount of $1,000 out of Dunellen as well as new charges of shoplifting from a North Avenue business. He was processed and then transported to the Middlesex County Jail.

On 12/11/2016 at 11:18 pm – A Plainfield resident was placed under arrest for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Route 28. His vehicle was stopped after committing several motor vehicle infractions. He was then determined to have two arrest warrants out of South Plainfield. He was processed and subsequently released after posting full cash bail.

On 12/11/2016 at 2:09 am – A Plainfield resident was placed under arrest and charged with theft of movable property. A three-month investigation revealed the woman removed a stranger’s purse with valuable contents from a local establishment and then fled the scene. She was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters where she was fingerprinted, processed, and subsequently lodged in the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in lieu of $2,500 bail.

On 12/9/2016 at 7:33 pm – A Dunellen resident was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Jefferson Avenue. Patrol units received a complaint that the vehicle he was operating was driving erratically. Upon stopping his vehicle, police determined the driver was intoxicated. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently released to a sober party.

On 12/8/2016 at 1:03 pm – A Middlesex resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Front Street. He was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Roselle. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Roselle Police Department.

On 12/6/2016 at 1:02 am – A Bound Brook resident was placed under arrest for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Route 28. An investigation determined he was in possession of a quantity of marijuana and also had a no-bail arrest warrant issued by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center.

On 12/5/2016 at 7:41 pm – A Plainfield resident was placed under arrest for hindering apprehension and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Washington Avenue. She was stopped after police noticed the vehicle she was operating had a malfunctioning headlight. An investigation determined she provided a false name to officers in order to conceal a suspended license and four arrest warrants out of East Brunswick, Piscataway, Tinton Falls, and Midland Park totaling $2,700. She was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters where she was processed and subsequently released with multiple pending court appearances.

On 12/5/2016 at 5:38 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. An investigation revealed that she had an active arrest warrant out of Union Township. She was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a new court date.

On 12/5/16 at 1:39 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle accident on Bound Brook Road. He was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Bound Brook and was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing before being turned over to Bound Brook Police.

On 12/1/2016 at 3:37 am – A Dunellen resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor crash on Bound Brook Road. She was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to a sober party.
