Dunellen Police Report | October 2016

On 10/30/2016 at 10:01 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. An investigation revealed that the man had a no-bail warrant out of Union County. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

On 10/30/2016 at 2:40 am – A Bound Brook resident was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit breath samples, and contempt of court following a suspicious vehicle check. Patrol units found the man sleeping in a vehicle which was parked the wrong direction on North Avenue. He was then transported to headquarters and found to have two warrants for his arrest out of Plainfield and New Brunswick. He was processed and subsequently turned over to the Plainfield Police Department.

On 10/28/2016 at 11:35 pm – A Plainfield resident was placed under arrest for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The woman was a passenger in the vehicle and was found to have an active warrant out of Piscataway. She was processed and subsequently released after posting bail.

On 10/26/2016, at 7:27 pm – Police received a walk-in report of lewdness. A female victim reported that she was in her vehicle in a parking lot on North Avenue when she was approached by a man who had his genitalia exposed. The man then fled in a vehicle and the victim was able to record a license plate. The investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau.

On 10/24/2016 at 6:41 pm – A South Plainfield resident was placed under arrest for criminal trespass, hindering apprehension, and contempt of court following a disturbance on North Washington Avenue. Upon the arrival of patrol units, multiple witnesses stated the woman pushed her way into a residence where she was not welcome and remained inside until the police were called. Patrol units were able to locate her in a vehicle a short distance away on Dunellen Avenue. She then provided officers with a false date of birth in order to conceal an active warrant out of North Plainfield. She was processed and subsequently turned over to North Plainfield Police.

On 10/23/2016 at 2:36 pm – A Browns Mills resident was placed under arrest for contempt of court following a motor vehicle accident on North Avenue. The man was a passenger in the accident and patrol units discovered he had a no-bail warrant issued by the New Jersey State Police – Red Lion Barracks. He was photographed, processed, and subsequently turned over to the New Jersey State Police.

On 10/23/2016 at 2:43 am – Police on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle parked on High Street. An investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen out of Linden. The car was secured to be returned to its owner.

On 10/19/2016 at 10:24 pm – A Plainfield resident was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and contempt of court. During a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue, the man exited his vehicle and began screaming obscenities at officers while standing in the roadway blocking traffic. He was placed under arrest when it was discovered he had an active warrant out of Edison. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters, processed, and released on his own recognizance with pending court appearances.

On 10/19/2016 at 2:35 pm – A Bound Brook resident was placed under arrest for hindering apprehension and contempt of court following a motor vehicle accident on North Avenue. Investigation determined the man provided officers with a false name in order to conceal a suspended drivers license and three warrants out of Watchung and Bound Brook. He was photographed, processed, and subsequently turned over to the Watchung Police Department.

On 10/12/2016 at 10:13 pm – A Highland Park resident was arrested and charged with burglary, robbery, theft, and criminal mischief following an investigation into an incident on 8/29/16 on Front Street.

On 10/10/2016 at 11:34 pm – A Dunellen resident was placed under arrest and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Second Street. An investigation determined he was in possession of marijuana along with a grinder and package of plastic baggies. He was fingerprinted, processed, and subsequently released with a pending court appearance.

On 10/6/2016 at 2:36 am – Two Plainfield residents were both placed under arrest following a motor vehicle stop. The woman was charged with hindering apprehension after providing officers with a false name to avoid a summons for being an unlicensed and suspended driver. The man was arrested for contempt of court after it was discovered he had an active warrant out of Scotch Plains. Both parties were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters and processed. The man was released after posting full cash bail while the woman was released with a pending court appearance.

On 10/4/2016 at 9:23 pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with 2 counts each of burglary by entering and theft of movable property following an investigation into the theft of property from two unlocked vehicles on 10/2/2016. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Middlesex County Jail in lieu of $12,500 bail.

On 10/4/2016 at 12:31 am – An Atlantic City resident was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and aggravated sexual contact following a joint investigation with the Dunellen Police Detective Bureau and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. He was transported to the Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transferred to the Middlesex County Jail.

On 10/3/2016 at 7:30 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with theft by deception, forgery, and criminal conspiracy following an investigation into stolen checks from another Dunellen resident. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later brought the Middlesex County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, along with several other warrants for her arrest.

On 10/2/2016 at 10:31 am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with defiant trespass after police responded to a report of an individual entering a Whittier Avenue house through an unlocked basement door. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
