Middlesex County 4-H Hosts Summer Day Camp Program

Middlesex County boys and girls who have completed grades 3 through 6 are invited to take part in Middlesex County 4-H’s Explorations Week day camp program.

The Explorations Week (E-Week) program, hosted by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Youth Development program, will run Monday, July 11 to Friday, July 15, with sessions lasting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All sessions will be held at the 4-H Youth Center located at 645 Cranbury Rd. in East Brunswick.

The program aims to help the campers in several key ways: encourage creativity, promote self-confidence, help them make new friends and achieve a sense of accomplishment. The theme of this year’s E-Week will be the Olympics.

Attendees can choose from a wide variety of daily activities, such as rocketry, theater, archery, scrapbooking, dance, cheerleading, wilderness survival and biking. Friday night includes an optional sleepover with campfire and dinner.

The price of the program is $160 for 4-H members and $170 for non 4-H members. This price covers program materials, daily lunch, T-shirt and field trip. Arrangements can be made for early or late arrivals. The cost for this service is a one-time fee of $25 per child.
