On 2/29/16 @ 1:14am – A Bound Brook resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for swerving and obstructing traffic. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters to be processed where he was found to be over double the legal limit. He was processed and later released to a sober party.
On 2/27/16 @ 12:58am – A Sayreville was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and a Plainfield resident was charged with hindering apprehension and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and the odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. After a search, two bags of marijuana belonging to Mr. Constable were located. The Plainfield resident then gave a false name and date of birth in an attempt to hide the fact that he had warrants out of Plainfield Municipal Court. Both suspects were arrested and brought to headquarters to be processed. The Sayreville resident was later released and the Plainfield resident was turned over to Plainfield Police Department for his warrants.
On 2/26/16 @ 10:16pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court after patrol was called to a residence for a report of a verbal dispute. While on scene, police discovered that the suspect had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and brought to headquarters to be processed where he later posted bail and was released.
On 2/23/16 @ 11:46pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Whittier Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for driving without its headlights on and because the owner had a suspended license. The vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana and after a search eight small bags of suspected marijuana was located. She was arrested, processed and later released.
On 2/21/16 @ 1:16am – A Garwood resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave. The vehicle was stopped for speeding on Bound Brook Road and the driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and brought to headquarters to be processed where he was found to be over double the legal limit. He was later released to a sober party.
On 2/20/16 @ 6:19am – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with DWI after a report of an erratic driver going east on Route 28. The driver was swerving into oncoming traffic and struck a parked vehicle on North Avenue and fled. When the vehicle was located, it had heavy front end damage and the driver was found to be intoxicated. She was brought to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries and blood was taken for alcohol content. The suspect was left at the hospital for treatment.
On 2/17/16 @ 2:46am – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with DWI and refusing to submit breath samples following a motor vehicle stop on Jackson Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and the driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and brought to headquarters where he then refused to give breath samples. He was processed and later released to a sober party.
On 2/16/16 @ 1:05am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle accident on Bound Brook Road. The suspect vehicle had struck a parked motor vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later turned over to a sober party.
On 2/15/16 @ 6:23pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after patrol was called to a North Avenue business for an intoxicated male refusing to leave the business. Upon arrival, patrol encountered the intoxicated suspect and the suspect continually exposed his penis in front of officers and refused to leave the establishment. The suspect was arrested and sent to the hospital due to his high level of intoxication.
On 2/15/16 @ 2:43am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Grove Street. The vehicle was stopped for obstructing traffic by stopping in the middle of the roadway. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. She was transported to headquarters where she was processed and later released to a sober party.
On 2/13/16 @ 1:31am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with DWI and refusing to submit to breath testing following a motor vehicle stop on Grove Street. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and swerving over the lane dividers. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. She was brought to headquarters where she refused to submit to breath testing. She was processed and later released to a sober party.
On 2/13/16 @ 12:37am – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, hindering apprehension, and contempt of court after patrol was called to an apartment building on Prospect Avenue for an activated fire alarm. The suspect was intoxicated and became antagonistic and uncooperative towards officers and firemen upon their arrival. He then gave a false name and date of birth to officers in an attempt to conceal an active warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested, processed and later transported to Middlesex County Jail.
On 2/11/16 @ 12:27am – A Somerset resident was arrested and charged with DWI and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and the driver was found to be intoxicated and had numerous warrants out for his arrest. He was arrested, brought to headquarters for processing and later turned over to Plainfield Police Department on his warrants.
On 2/10/16 @ 12:49am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for having a headlight out. The owner of the vehicle also had an active warrant out for her arrest. She was arrested, processed and later released.
On 2/7/16 @ 12:45am – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for the owner having a suspended license and an active warrant. The driver was arrested, processed and later posted bail.
On 2/7/16 @ 12:12am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for suspended registration and the driver was found to have an active warrant for her arrest. She was arrested, processed and later posted bail.
On 2/6/16 @ 9:55am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of criminal attempt, theft and contempt of court after patrol was called to the area of the 800 block of Front Street for a report of a male breaking into motor vehicles. The suspect was found later while inside another motor vehicle attempting to steal loose change. The suspect was arrested, processed and later transported to Middlesex County Jail.
On 2/6/16 @ 2:50am – A Green Brook resident was arrested and charged with DWI and refusing to submit breath samples following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and driving over the lane dividers on Bound Brook Rd. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he refused to submit to breath testing. He was processed and later released to a sober party.
On 2/6/16 @ 1:16am – An Edison resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. The vehicle was stopped for speeding on Bound Brook Road and the driver was found to be intoxicated. He was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later turned over to a sober party.
On 2/5/16 @ 12:55am – A Lake Hiawatha resident was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court; and a Bedminster resident and a Mine Hill resident were both charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on the 300 block of North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because it was reported stolen out of Parsippany. Inside of the vehicle, various drug paraphernalia and syringes loaded with suspected heroin were found. Two suspects were transported to Middlesex County Jail and one was brought to the hospital for high blood pressure.
On 2/1/16 @ 12:28am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court after investigating a previously unreported attempted burglary to a motor vehicle which had occurred the night prior. Employees of a North Avenue business stated that the previous night someone had attempted to burglarize a customer’s vehicle but was unsuccessful. He then left his wallet in the business. The victim did not want to call the police and left the scene. The suspect had returned for his wallet on the above date and that is when patrol was notified by the business of the events. A check of the suspect’s name revealed an active warrant for his arrest. He was arrested, processed and later turned over to Manville Police Department on his warrant.
