Dunellen Police Report | December 2015

On 12/31/15 @ 5:19pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for expired registration and the driver was found to have a suspended license and an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later posted bail.

On 12/31/15 @ 2:21am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with DWI, refusing to submit breath samples, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and obstruction following a motor vehicle stop on Madison Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for swerving into the opposite lane of travel on Bound Brook Road. The driver was found to be intoxicated. The driver then became uncooperative when asked out of his vehicle, stating “I hate America, I’m telling you the truth. I was born in India and you’re white and I hate America.” The suspect was asked to calm down several times and refused. He then resisted arrest when officer went to place him in handcuffs. After being arrested some drug paraphernalia was found in his vehicle. He then refused to give pedigree information or breath samples once in headquarters. He was later brought to Middlesex County Jail on his charges.

On 12/31/15 @ 1:49am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because a random plate check revealed an active warrant for the owner’s arrest. The suspect was arrested, processed and later posted bail.

On 12/29/15 @ 11:48pm – An Avenel resident was arrested and charged with DWI after patrol found him passed out in his vehicle parked in the middle of South Avenue. The driver had parked, threw up all over himself and his vehicle, then passed out. He was arrested, processed and later released to a sober party.

On 12/27/15 @ 10:33pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court, disorderly conduct, hindering arrest and resisting arrest after an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle parked with no headlights on and two people occupying it on High Street. The officer approached the vehicle and the passenger was heavily intoxicated and became disorderly, screaming and refusing to follow officers’ instructions. He was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and resisted arrest. The suspect then refused to give his name or other pedigree information. His identity was later confirmed through checks with surrounding police departments and a warrant for his arrest was also found. The suspect then began to complain of shortness of breath and was transported to the hospital. After being cleared from the hospital with no medical issues he was transported to Middlesex County Jail.

On 12/27/15 @ 4:13pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because a random plate check revealed a suspended license and active warrant for the driver. The suspect was arrested, processed and later released pending court.

On 12/26/15 @ 8:44pm – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for driving without its headlights on. The driver was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested, processed and later posted bail.

On 12/26/15 @ 12:41am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with DWI and possession of marijuana after patrol was called to the area for an unconscious person inside a parked vehicle. Upon arrival patrol found the suspect in the driver’s seat heavily intoxicated with vomit on the vehicle and herself. She also had open alcohol containers in the vehicle and a small bag of marijuana in her possession. She was arrested and brought to headquarters where she was found to be double the legal limit. After being processed she was released to a sober party.

On 12/22/15 @ 11:17pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and the driver was found to have active warrants for his arrest. He was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later posted bail.

On 12/22/15 @ 3:13pm – A Dunellen resident reported being the victim of a burglary to his residence. The victim stated when they arrived home they found their residence ransacked. Numerous Christmas presents were taken.

On 12/22/15 @ 1:48am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for swerving and the driver was found to be intoxicated. She was arrested and brought to headquarters to be processed where she was found to be over double the legal limit. She was later released to a sober party.

On 12/22/15 @ 12:30am – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Park Place. The vehicle was stopped because it was idling in the middle of the road. The driver was found to be in possession of prescription drugs without a legal prescription and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, processed and later released.

On 12/21/15 @ 2:18am – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and the driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and brought to headquarters to be processed where he was found to be over the legal limit. He was later released to a sober party.

On 12/20/15 @ 10:17pm – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because a random plate check revealed an active warrant for the owner. After being arrested several items of drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The suspect was brought to headquarters where he was processed, posted bail and was released.

On 12/19/15 @ 1:20am – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding, swerving and throwing debris from the window. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he was found to be over double the legal limit. He was processed and released the following day when he was sober.

On 12/18/15 @ 11:52pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because it had a headlight out. The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested, processed and later posted bail.

On 12/15/15 @ 11:56pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and the driver was found to have a suspended license and an active warrant for her arrest. She was arrested, processed and later posted bail.

On 12/14/15 @ 1:52am – A Sayreville resident was arrested and charged with DWI, possession of marijuana and eluding following a brief motor vehicle pursuit which started on South Washington Avenue. The vehicle was seen swerving on South Washington Avenue, almost striking a tree and traveling over double the posted speed limit. The vehicle did not stop upon the officer activating his lights and sirens and continued on until it was finally stopped on Tabb Avenue in Piscataway. The driver was found to be intoxicated and had multiple bags of marijuana on his person. He was arrested, processed and later posted bail.

On 12/14/15 @ 12:19am – A Pennsylvania resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding on South Washington Avenue. The driver had a suspended license and an active warrant for her arrest. She was arrested, processed and later posted bail.

On 12/12/15 @ 12:46am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on West Fourth Street. The vehicle was stopped for having a headlight out, expired registration, and the driver was found to have a suspended license. The driver was also found to have two outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was processed and later turned over to South Plainfield Police Department for one of her warrants.

On 12/11/15 @ 12:36am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because the registered owner was showing an active warrant for his arrest on a random plate check. The suspect was arrested, processed and later posted bail.

On 12/9/15 @ 5:05pm – An Elizabeth resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle accident on North Avenue. One of the drivers was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest and was taken into custody. He was processed and later turned over to Essex County Sheriff’s Department for his warrant.

On 12/9/15 @ 1:37am – A Virginia resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding. The driver was found to have two outstanding warrants and was arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later posted bail.

On 12/8/15 @ 6:15pm – A Watchung resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on West Fourth Street. The vehicle was stopped for having a headlight out. The driver was found to be unlicensed and had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest. The suspect was arrested, processed and later released.

On 12/7/15 @ 9:26pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for driving without any headlights on. The driver was found to have an active warrant out for her arrest and taken into custody. She was brought to headquarters where she was processed and later released.
