The next meeting of the Raritan Valley Rail Coalition (RVRC) will be on Monday, Oct. 26.
Somerset County Freeholder and RVRC Chairman Peter S. Palmer and other trustees will report on the progress to date on increasing one-seat ride service; efforts to promote the importance of the Gateway Project; and the need to identify a long-term, stable funding source for the state Transportation Trust Fund and to construct critical rail infrastructure projects, such as the Hunter Flyover and the Portal Bridge.
The trustees will provide an update on the one-seat ride initiative’s website (www.raritanvalleyrail.com) and social-media campaign. They also will present highlights from their recent quarterly one-seat ride briefing with NJ Transit.
The Oct. 26 meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Town of Westfield Council Chambers in the Town of Westfield Municipal Building, located at 425 E. Broad St. Parking is available behind the main building.
