  • On 8/30/15 @ 1:12am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a police officer and contempt of court after patrol was called to his residence for a report of a dispute in progress. Upon arrival the suspect began to yell and curse at officers and was arrested for disorderly conduct. He then attempted to punch an officer and resisted arrest, causing one officer to seriously injure his shoulder. The suspect was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later transported to Middlesex County Jail.
  • On 8/29/15 @ 1:57am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court after he was stopped on North Avenue for looking into businesses on North Avenue. The suspect was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was brought to headquarters for processing. He was turned over to Bridgewater Police Department for his warrant.
  • On 8/28/15 @ 7:35pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a report of suspicious activity in front of a North Avenue business. One of the suspicious males had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was processed and later transported to South Plainfield Police Department on one of his warrants.
  • On 8/26/15 @ 2:34am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with two counts of obstruction following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for swerving and almost hitting a patrol car. During the stop the driver refused to produce his license, registration or insurance card or provide his name stating that officers had no jurisdiction over him because he was “divine.” The suspect was quickly informed that he was sorely mistaken in these views and was placed under arrest for obstruction for refusing to give his identity during a motor vehicle stop. His vehicle was then towed for not providing insurance information. He was brought to headquarters to be processed where he again claimed his “divine right” to not give further pedigree information, so he was the charged with a second count of obstruction for refusing to provide this information. He was processed and later released.
  • On 8/25/15 @ 5:02pm – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with criminal mischief. The suspect had thrown a large brick at the ATM at Investors Bank on North Washington Avenue. The suspect then left the scene. North Plainfield Police Department later arrested the suspect at his residence and he was brought back to headquarters for processing. He later posted bail and was released.
  • On 8/25/15 @ 12:20am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after patrol was called to his parents’ residence for a report of a dispute. Upon arrival it was discovered that the suspect was arguing with his father and his father wanted him to leave the house. The suspect was told to leave several times but refused officers’ orders and was placed under arrest. He was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later released.
  • On 8/24/15 @ 8:44pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with DWI and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on High Street. The vehicle was stopped because it had been driving through the area honking its horn and had told one resident that he was looking for people that had earlier shot at him. There was an open container of wine in his passenger seat and the driver was found to be intoxicated. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Washington Twp. He was brought to headquarters where he was found to be almost twice the legal limit. He then posted bail on his warrant and was released to a sober party. His claim of someone threatening to shoot him had no credibility.
  • On 8/24/15 @ 6:20pm – A Bache Place resident reported being the victim of burglary and theft to her motor vehicle which occurred at some point in the prior 4 days. The victim stated the someone entered her unlocked vehicle during that time and stole several items. She also stated that several other neighbors complained of their vehicle being burglarized during that time as well. There were no known suspects or witnesses.
  • On 8/23/15 @ 1:07am – A Somerset resident was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for driving without its headlights on. The driver was found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest and was placed into custody. In plain view in the vehicle two syringes and ten folds of heroin were found. The suspect was brought to headquarters where he was processed, posted bail and was released.
  • On 8/21/15 @ 11:14am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after officers noticed the suspect begging for money on North Avenue. The suspect had been warned on several prior incidents to not beg for money. Upon approaching the suspect officers heard the suspect asking pedestrians for money again. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He was processed and later released.
  • On 8/18/15 @ 12:06pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped when a random plate check revealed an active warrant for the registered owner’s arrest out of Piscataway. The driver was arrested, processed and later released.
  • On 8/17/15 @ 12:35am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Front Street. The vehicle was stopped for swerving into the opposite lane of travel several times. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he was found to be over double the legal limit. He was processed and released to a sober party.
  • On 8/15/15 @ 10:59pm – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Walnut Street. The vehicle was stopped for going over the curb while making a turn and for swerving back and forth in the roadway. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he was found to be double the legal limit. He was processed and later released to a sober party.
  • On 8/14/15 @ 12:38am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on New Market Road. The vehicle was stopped for swerving several times across the lane dividers and for speeding (approx 60mph). The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters for processing where he was found to be almost 3 times the legal limit. He was later released to a sober party.
  • On 8/12/15 @ 7:35pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct after he showed up to municipal court on unrelated charges intoxicated. He had an open container of alcohol in the hallway of the courtroom and was causing a disturbance. The Dunellen Rescue Squad was called to take the suspect to the hospital due to his high level of intoxication and during the transport he assaulted members of the rescue squad. Officers then followed the ambulance the rest of the way to the hospital where he was turned over to hospital staff.
  • On 8/11/15 @ 11:37pm – Two Dunellen residents were arrested and charged with criminal trespass. Officers were dispatched to 100 South Washington Avenue for a report of two males who climbed up to the roof of the businesses and appeared to be skateboarding on the roof. The suspects hid upon patrol’s arrival. They were told to come down several times and would not. The Dunellen Fire Department was then dispatched to assist with their ladders to gain access to the roof. Upon arrival of the Fire Department, both suspects showed themselves. They were brought down from the roof and both arrested for criminal trespass. They were brought to headquarters to be processed and were later released.
  • On 8/11/15 @ 4:55pm – A Front Street resident reported being the victim of criminal mischief. The victim stated that someone threw a hammer through the window of their house. The suspect was described as a black male and he fled in a black Nissan.
  • On 8/11/15 @ 2:20pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following a call for criminal mischief to a residence. Patrol arrived on scene to take a report of criminal mischief done to a residence and the victim’s son arrived on scene screaming and cursing at police. He was advised several times to calm down and did not. The suspect then became violent towards his family and when officers tried to restrain him he pulled away and resisted arrest. After a struggle he was handcuffed and placed under arrest. A stun gun was then found in his possession, which he was then also charged with. The suspect was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later transported to Middlesex County Jail.
  • On 8/6/15 @ 3:02am – Patrol responded to the 300 block of North Avenue for a report of an active structure fire. Upon arrival patrol learned that two residents were trapped on the 2nd floor of the building. One resident was then found hanging half out of the second floor window trying to avoid breathing in the heavy smoke and the second resident had crawled out of another window and was standing on the window ledge clinging to the house to avoid the heavy smoke. Officers located a construction truck with ladders on the roof and used one to retrieve both residents from the second floor. The fire department extinguished the fire and initial investigation could not determine the cause of the fire.
  • On 8/2/15 @ 9:53am – A Penfield Place resident reported being the victim of a burglary and theft to their motor vehicle. At some point in the over-night hours someone had gained access to their vehicle and stole numerous items. There were no witnesses or suspects.
  • On 8/2/15 @ 2:08am – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court and hindering following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for driving without its headlights on. The driver then gave a false name to the officer. When he true identity was discovered a warrant for his arrest out of Green Brook was also located. The suspect was arrested, processed and later turned over to Green Brook on their warrant.
  • On 8/1/15 @ 1:46am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for making an illegal u-turn and driving at a high rate of speed. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later released to a sober party.
