The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County invites you to celebrate National Herb Day with the Rutgers Master Gardeners at their “Ask a Master Gardener” event and plant sale.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 4-H Youth Center located at 645 Cranbury Road in East Brunswick. Attendees should use the Fern Road entrance. The event will be held rain or shine.
This event is designed as an information session and workshop for those looking to start planting and maintaining a successful garden. Middlesex County’s Agricultural Agent and Master Gardeners will be available to answer any questions you may have. Several Master Gardeners also will offer mini-lectures to inspire gardeners in attendance on topics such as beekeeping and power gardening.
Literature will be available to take home. The selection of plants available for purchase will include herbs, flowers, vegetables and starter plants for those ready to begin work on a new garden.
“I encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to consult with some of the County’s most knowledgeable gardeners,” said Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, chair of the County’s Business Development and Education Committee.
