NJ Transit trains and buses will start running on new schedules in the next few weeks. A new rail schedule will take effect on Sunday, January 11 on the Raritan Valley Line (RVL). This schedule reflects the new one-seat ride in and out of New York Penn Station during off-peak evening hours during the week. The RVL already goes directly into Manhattan during off-peak morning and early afternoon hours. The adjusted bus schedules will go into effect January 17, 2015.
For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which falls on Monday, January 19, most bus lines will be working on a holiday schedule. These include 59, 65, 113, and 114. The 117 bus line will continue to work on a weekday schedule. The Raritan Valley train line will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule, with additional morning and afternoon/evening “peak period” trains.
