Two-Car Traffic Accident Last Friday

Two Middlesex County women were injured on Friday, February 24 when their vehicles collided during the evening’s rush hour. The accident occurred at 5:37 PM at the intersection of First Street and North Washington Avenue. According to Dunellen Police Sergeant Jeffrey Del Buono, a Dunellen resident driving a 2013 Hyundai, east on First Street failed to stop at the stop sign on First Street and North Washington Avenue. An Edison resident driving south on North Washington Avenue in a 2016 Subaru collided into the Hyundai. Officers Honored For DWI Enforcement

Dunellen Ptl Goldman recives MADD awad. June 2016

On Thursday, June 6, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) held their annual NJ awards ceremony at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. The ceremony recognized officers in the state’s law enforcement organizations for their extraordinary efforts in the prevention of car crashes through DWI enforcement. Three officers from the Dunellen Police Department were recognized: Sgt John Doherty, Ptl Nicholas Goldman and Ptl Marcin Nierodzik. Dunellen Police Report | April 2016

[ETA 4/29-30/16 posts] On 4/30/16 at 1:56am – A New Brunswick resident was arrested and charged with DWI. Patrol observed a vehicle cut off another vehicle while making a turn on to New Market Road. While speaking with the driver, patrol detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and observed the driver’s eyes to be bloodshot and watery. He was then administered field sobriety tests and subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Dunellen Police Report | November 2015

On 11/29/15 @ 11:40pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Dunellen Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for making an illegal right on red at North and Washington Avenues. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he was found to be over double the legal limit. He was processed and later released to a sober party. Continue Reading →

Registrations Being Accepted for County Sheriff’s Civilian Academy

The Sheriff’s Office will hold an 8-week-long Sheriff’s Civilian Academy for residents of Middlesex County beginning April 2016. The program is designed to educate Middlesex County residents on the various functions and duties of the Sheriff’s Office. Applications are being accepted now for the program, which will be held at the Middlesex County Police Training Center at North Patrol Road in Edison. The first session will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 7 to 9 p.m. Classes will continue weekly on Wednesdays. One Saturday class will be held. Continue Reading →

Dunellen Police save man’s life using Narcan

Dunellen Police Department had its first “Narcan life save” last night. At 11:30pm, officers were dispatched to the 200 Block of First Street. Sergeant Jeffrey Delbuono, Patrolman Nicholas Goldman, Patrolman Nicholas Pepe and Patrolman Marcin Nierodzik arrived on scene and found a 32 year old man from Woodbridge Township unconscious with a faint pulse and agonal breathing, laying in the roadway next to his vehicle. The police administered oxygen as well as two rounds of Naloxone, also known as Narcan, a medication used to reverse the effects of opioid overdose. After approximately five minutes from the first Narcan shot, the man regained consciousness and started breathing on his own. Continue Reading →

Dunellen Police Report | October 2015

On 10/27/15 @ 6:00pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for having a tail lights out. The driver had an active warrant out for her arrest. She was arrested, brought to headquarters to be processed and later posted bail.
