Memorial Day 2012

Dunellen traditionally has a Memorial Day parade sponsored by the American Legion and VFW. Veterans, the Dunellen High School band, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Little League, the council, Dunellen Fire Department and Rescue Squad all make the way through downtown to a beautiful ceremony and laying of the wreaths in Washington Memorial Park. The Green Brook fire department and rescue squad are invited since there is no parade in Green Brook. Afterwards, friends and neighbors gather for hot dogs and beer (both alcoholic and root) in the American Legion picnic area. Continue Reading →
