Dunellen Police Report | September 2019

On 9/30/2019 at 2:25 am, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated assault with a weapon, and certain persons prohibited from weapon possession, after police were called to an incident of reckless driving near the intersection of Madison and North Avenues. Upon arrival, police observed the man actively attempting to cause serious bodily injury with a weapon. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters and then remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. Also during this incident, another Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court as it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Dunellen; his case was processed and he was released after posting bail. Dunellen Police Report | August 2019

On 8/31/2019 at 11:20 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed by police walking on North Avenue and known to have warrants for his arrest. Warrants were located out of Dunellen, Piscataway, Plainfield, and Union. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail on Dunellen’s warrant. On 8/31/2019 at 5:26 pm, a Highland Park resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. Since was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Somerville, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Somerville Police Department on their warrant. Dunellen Police Report | July 2019

On 7/31/2019 at 5:30 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with driving while suspended for DWI following investigation into a motor vehicle stop on 7/21/2019. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. On 7/30/2019, a Piscataway resident was charged with theft of movable property following investigation into an incident reported on 6/20/19 outside of a North Avenue business. He was sent his charges at the Union County Jail where he is currently detained on unrelated charges. On 7/30/2019 at 2:44 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop. Continue Reading →

Dunellen Police Report | June 2019

On 6/29/2019 at 9:14 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. Staff members reported that a man had entered the store and removed several items. When confronted, he fled on foot towards Plainfield prior to police arrival. On 6/28/2019 at 11:29 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop. She was found to have a warrant for her arrest out of Green Brook and was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail. On 6/25/2019 at 9:07 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with several counts of aggravated sexual assault following investigation into a walk-in report at headquarters. Dunellen Police Report | May 2019

On 5/30/2019 at 12:08 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. Staff reported a female juvenile entering the store the day prior and stealing several items. This case remains open. On 5/29/2019 at 7:43 pm, police responded to the intersection of North and Washington for the report of a vehicle which had struck a building, causing significant damage, and then fled. With the assistance of Plainfield Police Department, they were able to locate the fleeing driver, a Plainfield resident. He was charged with driving while intoxicated in their jurisdiction. On 4/30/2019 at 11:45 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop at the Plainfield border. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member. On 4/27/2019 at 11:03 pm, a South Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of a North Avenue business. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Rahway. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date. Continue Reading →

Dunellen Police Report | March 2019

On 3/30/2019 at 11:57 pm, a Somerset resident was arrested and charged with possession of under 50g marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers were called to a suspicious incident on First Street. Three juvenile males were also charged in relation to this incident. All parties were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters and released with court notices after processing. On 3/29/2019 at 12:25 pm, police received a walk-in report of mail fraud. The victim reported U.S. money orders which were placed in a mail drop box but never received by the intended recipient. 2019 Dunellen Curbside Recycling Schedule

In 2019, Dunellen residents will have curbside recycling pickups every other Wednesday by the Middlesex County Improvement Authority (MCIA). All curbside recyclable items, such as bottles, cans, paper and small flat cardboard can be mixed together in a single recycling container as they are kept separate from trash. New this year is a recycling app called Recycling Coach which is available in both Apple and Google app stores. It provides a personalized recycling calendar and additional guidance.
