Macbeth comes to Dunellen

macbeth performance rethink theatrical cover

Shakespeake’s famous Scottish play will be performed in Dunellen for the next two weeks. Produced by ReThink Theatrical at the Arts Annex, this version of Macbeth weaves elements of professional modern dance and movement, alongside professional percussion, into the story. ReThink Theatrical’s Executive Director Stephanie Bond explains, “While Macbeth is a story about treachery and murder, it is not always made to be as creepy, unsettling, and emotionally vibrant as the story truly is. We have added different performing arts elements alongside fantastic acting to bring out the other-worldliness of the play’s witches, and Macbeth’s fate.” The organization which started in 2015 is focused on a mission to make theater accessible to all regardless of financial circumstances. Developers Request Changes to Columbia Park

The developers of the upcoming Art Color housing project have requested a last-minute change before breaking ground this Summer. That request… switching Columbia Park’s football field back to its original east to west orientation. According to Dunellen Recreation Commissioner Miles Alexander, the switch would allow some of the new residents to view the football games from their balconies. This amenity would allow premier pricing for the soon-to-be-available townhouses edging the park, potentially resulting in bidding wars and bringing up home values town-wide. Continue Reading →
