On 8/31/2019 at 11:20 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed by police walking on North Avenue and known to have warrants for his arrest. Warrants were located out of Dunellen, Piscataway, Plainfield, and Union. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail on Dunellen’s warrant.
On 8/31/2019 at 5:26 pm, a Highland Park resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. Since was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Somerville, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Somerville Police Department on their warrant.
On 8/30/2019 at 7:28 pm, a Bridgewater resident was charged with possession of CDS (heroin), being under the influence of CDS, and failure to surrender CDS after being observed by patrol on North Avenue behaving oddly. He was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation and was mailed a court appearance notice.
On 8/30/2019 at 3:11 pm, police responded to Mountain View Terrace for the report of criminal mischief. The victim reported damage to some property in her yard.
On 8/30/2019 at 9:91 am, a Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following police response to the report of a suspicious vehicle on North Avenue. She was found to have multiple warrants out of South Plainfield. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to South Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.
On 8/26/2019 at 9:19 am, police received a walk-in report of credit card fraud. The victim reported that an unknown person had opened up a credit card using their identity and charged purchases to the account.
On 8/25/2019 at 1:45 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue in which he provided officers with a false name to conceal his suspended license. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 8/24/2019 a Plainfield juvenile resident was charged with hindering apprehension following investigation into a motor vehicle stop on 8/16/2019 in which it was determined that she had provided a false name. A court notice was mailed.
On 8/24/2019 at 12:14 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on New Market Road. She provided officers with multiple fictitious names to conceal warrants out of Scotch Plains and Piscataway as well as a no-bail warrant out of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Somerset County Jail on the Prosecutor’s Office warrant.
On 8/22/2019 at 9:33 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with simple assault, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of drug paraphernalia following police response to a North Avenue business for the report of an individual attacking others with a billiard ball. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 8/22/2019 at 4:18 pm, a Somerville resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit breath samples following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue. Additionally, warrants were located out of Plainfield and South Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing where he refused to submit breath samples. He was later turned over to EMS for an evaluation.
On 8/21/2019 at 10:19 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit breath samples following a motor vehicle stop on Pulaski Street. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing where he refused to submit breath samples. He was later turned over to a sober family member.
On 8/20/2019 at 11:31 pm, a Bridgewater resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of CDS (crack cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to give CDS to police, and being under the influence of CDS following a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue for multiple moving violations. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober friend.
On 8/19/2019 at 11:14 pm, a Middlesex resident was arrested for contempt of court following a premise check of the area behind a North Avenue business. He was found to have a warrant out of Middlesex Borough. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.
On 8/19/2019 at 11:14 pm, a Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic needle, and being under the influence of CDS following a premise check of the area behind a North Avenue business. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court appearance date.
On 8/19/2019 at 8:38 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension (4th Degree) following a motor vehicle stop on New Market Road in which he provided a fictitious name to conceal a suspended license and multiple warrants for his arrest. Investigation revealed his true identity and no-bail warrants out of Newark, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and Essex County Sheriff’s Office. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 8/18/2019, a Dunellen resident was mailed a complaint summons charging him with theft following investigation into an incident on First Street in which several cooking appliances were stolen from a residence. He was sent a court appearance date.
On 8/18/2019 at 7:48 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue for failure to stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Piscataway, brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters and released after posting bail.
On 8/16/2019 at 12:50 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. A female juvenile was also arrested and charged with hindering apprehension. Both were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing. He was turned over to a sober family member and the juvenile was turned over to her parents.
On 8/15/2019 at 8:50 pm, police responded to First Street for the report of a vicious dog. As a result of the investigation, several borough ordinances were issued.
On 8/15/2019 at 3:48 pm, police responded to Prospect Avenue for the report of a suspicious incident. The caller reported that a baby stroller which had been left on her front porch was now on her front lawn and wished to have the suspicious incident documented.
On 8/14/2019 at 11:03 pm, three New York residents were arrested following a motor vehicle stop near North and Washington Avenues. The man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Old Bridge. He was released after receiving a new court date. The two women were both charged with hindering apprehension after providing officers with fictitious identity information. They were both released with a court date after processing.
On 8/14/2019, a Bridgewater resident was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer following investigation into a motor vehicle stop on 8/11/2019 in which he falsely claimed to be a police officer. He was mailed a court appearance notice.
On 8/13/2019 at 2:44 pm, a South Bound Brook resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Walnut Street. He was found to have warrants for his arrest out of Union Township, Somerville, Madison, Irvington, and Fanwood. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Union Township Police Department on their warrant.
On 8/12/2019 at 6:41 pm, a Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with theft following investigation into the reported theft of a cell phone from a North Avenue business. He was identified and located with the stolen property. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court appearance date.
On 8/12/2019 at 12:06 am, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police heard the sound of a motor vehicle crash near North and Washington Avenues and observed him fleeing the area. The sound had been from his vehicle striking two parked vehicles. He was subsequently stopped and arrested for DWI. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober friend.

On 8/11/2019 at 8:16 pm, two Plainfield residents were arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop. The man had warrants out of Plainfield and South Plainfield. The woman had a warrant out of Springfield. They were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail and receiving new court dates.
On 8/10/2019 at 11:30 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue because he had several unrestrained small children in the vehicle. Since he had warrants for his arrest out of Plainfield and Piscataway, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Piscataway Police Department on their warrant.
On 8/10/2019 at 1:54 am, police attempted to stop a yellow and black motorcycle operating in a reckless manner on North Washington Avenue. The pursuit was terminated when the operator took off on Rt. 22 at an extremely high rate of speed.
On 8/9/2019 at 6:27 pm, an Elizabeth resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have warrants out of Woodbridge, Plainfield, and New Brunswick. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to New Brunswick Police Department on their warrant.
On 8/9/2019 at 4:16 pm, police responded to Prospect Avenue for the report of burglary and theft. The victim reported multiple items stolen from the residence. It is believed the actor entered through the unlocked door to the residence.
On 8/7/2019 at 12:16 am, a Carteret resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following police response to a motor vehicle accident on North Washington Avenue in which she struck several parked vehicles. She was subsequently arrested and transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing before being later released to a sober friend.
On 8/5/2019 at 1:47 pm, police received a walk-in report of theft by deception. The victim reported receiving a phone call from an individual claiming to be from PSEG and demanding payment in bitcoin to avoid shutting off power to the victim’s residence. After sending the money, the victim became suspicious and contacted the actual electric company who informed the victim that it was a scam.
On 8/4/2019 at 1:38 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to a sober family member.
On 8/3/2019 at 12:19 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and resisting arrest following a motor vehicle stop on West Fourth Street where she repeatedly gave fictitious identification information. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court appearance date.
On 8/2/2019 at 4:48 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Orange Street. Since she had a a warrant for her arrest out of South Plainfield, she was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after receiving a new court date.
On 8/1/2019 at 5:32 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following police response to a motor vehicle accident in the Station Plaza parking lot. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to a sober family member.
