On 3/31/2018 at 10:08 pm – Police responded to North Ave Ext for the report of criminal mischief. As a result of the investigation, a Dunellen resident was charged with criminal mischief and issued a court date. Another Dunellen resident was charged with hindering apprehension of another and issued a court date.
On 3/31/2018 at 1:34 am – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Dunellen, brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.
On 3/29/2018 at 4:46 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with defiant trespass following response to an incident on South Washington Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 3/28/2018 at 4:16 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue. She was found to have warrants out of South Plainfield and North Plainfield. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to South Plainfield Police on their warrants.
On 3/28/2018 at 3:11 pm – A Hillsborough resident was arrested and charged with theft,hindering apprehension, falsely incriminating another, and contempt of court following investigation into an incident on 11/27/2017. He also had warrants out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 3/25/2018 at 1:20 am – A Middlesex resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle accident on Dunellen Avenue. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober party.
On 3/24/2018 at 6:32 pm – Police took a walk-in report of credit card theft from a resident of Front Street. The victim reported his card missing and believed that someone may have removed it from his apartment while he was asleep.
On 3/23/2018 at 8:35 pm – A Bridgewater resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have warrants out of Branchburg and Green Brook. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 3/23/2018 at 3:10 pm – A Somerville resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. Because she had a warrant for her arrest out of Somerville, she was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.
On 3/23/2018 at 9:52 am – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following investigation into a separate incident where it was revealed that he had an arrest warrant out of South Plainfield. He was processed at Dunellen Police Headquarters and released after receiving a new court date.
On 3/22/2018 at 10:48 pm – Police took a walk-in report of theft. The victim reported being unable to locate his wallet for the past few days, and since that time several fraudulent charges have appeared on his debit account.
On 3/19/2018 at 5:58 pm – Police received a walk-in report of credit card fraud from a Dunellen resident. This case remains open.
On 3/19/2018 at 11:35 am – Police responded to South Madison Avenue for the report of a suspicious package. The homeowner reported a package that had been delivered but which they had not ordered.
On 3/19/2018 at 3:14 am – A Newark resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. Since he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Newark, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.
On 3/18/2018 at 11:46 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member.
On 3/17/2018 at 11:43 pm – A Edison resident was arrested for contempt of court and fugitive from justice following a motor vehicle stop in Green Brook. When he was found to have an outstanding warrant from Dunellen and a no-bail warrant from Pennsylvania, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
On 3/17/2018 at 10:42 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia (2 counts) following a motor vehicle stop on Center Street. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date. Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the narcotics recovery.
On 3/16/2018 at 8:28 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue in which he was a passenger and not wearing a seatbelt. He provided officers with a false name during the stop. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 3/15/2018 at 7:75 am – Police responded to Lincoln Avenue for the report of criminal mischief to a parked vehicle which occurred during the previous night.
On 3/14/2018 at 10:34 pm – Police responded to Sanford Avenue for the report of an individual trying door handles of parked cars. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
On 3/14/2018 at 10:35 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. She was found to have an active warrant for her arrest out of Plainfield. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 3/14/2018 at 6:04 pm – Dunellen Patrol Officers responded to several 911 calls regarding a male armed with a knife and causing a disturbance near North and Madison Avenues. Officers from Dunellen, Green Brook and Middlesex searched the area but were unable to locate him at the time. Officers were able to identify the individual based on video surveillance and the suspect was observed at a North Avenue business later that evening. Officers responded and it determined that the male was still armed with the large knife and experiencing a psychiatric episode. Police were able to successfully disarm the individual without resorting to physical force. He was then transported for a medical evaluation.
On 3/12/2018 at 4:40 pm – Police took a walk-in report of theft and fraud from a Dunellen resident.
On 3/10/2018 at 5:37 pm – Police took a walk-in report of a bicycle theft. The victim reported that his bicycle had been locked at the Dunellen Train Station and upon returning, he found both the bicycle and lock to be missing.
On 3/9/2018 at 1:03 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue in which he was a passenger and not wearing a seatbelt. He provided the officer with a fictitious name to conceal a warrant out of Watchung and a no-bail warrant from the Union County Sheriff’s Office. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
On 3/8/2018 at 1:55 pm – Police responded to New Market Road for the report of an assault.
On 3/8/2018 at 7:36 am – Police responded to Third Street for the report of a tree which had fallen on a parked vehicle.
On 3/5/2018 at 10:02 am – Police took a walk-in report of harassment.
On 3/2/2018 at 6:17 pm – Police responded to Lehigh Street for the report of a tree which had fallen and caused damage to two homes.
On 3/2/2018 at 5:00 pm – Police responded to North Avenue for the report of a tree which had fallen on a parked vehicle.
On 3/2/2018 at 3:08 pm – Police responded to Second Street for the report of a tree which had fallen into a house.
On 3/2/2018 at 3:01 pm – Police responded to Prospect Avenue for the report of a tree which had fallen on a parked vehicle.
