Dunellen Police Report | January 2018

On 1/30/2018 at 10:12 pm – An Edison resident was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He also had an active arrest warrant out of Elizabeth. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.

On 1/30/2018 at 8:50 am – Police took a walk-in report of credit card fraud from a resident of North Washington Avenue.

On 1/30/2018 at 1:40 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue for an equipment violation. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.

On 1/28/2018 at 4:21 pm – Police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of an individual who had passed a counterfeit $100 bill. This incident remains open.

On 1/28/2018 at 4:03 pm – A resident of Prospect Avenue reported credit card fraud.

On 1/28/2018 at 1:09 am – Police received a walk-in report of simple assault from four victims who claimed that they were assaulted by 6-8 males on North Avenue. All refused medical treatment.

On 1/26/2018 at 12:28 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following investigation into a motor vehicle stop on 1/25/2018 where he had provided officers with a fictitious name to conceal warrants out of Plainfield, Green Brook, and Piscataway. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.

On 1/24/2018 at 12:42 pm – A Somerset resident was arrested and charged with taking merchandise without intent to pay, robbery by force, theft, and simple assault following investigation into an incident on 11/12/2017. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.

On 1/22/2018 at 6:44 am – Police responded to the Dunellen Department of Public Works (DPW) yard on Hall Street for the report of damage to multiple vehicles. An unknown person had accessed the yard and smashed the mirrors on multiple DPW vehicles.

On 1/21/2018 at 11:03 pm – A Edison resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Perth Amboy. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.

On 1/21/2018 at 1:15 am – A Cliffwood resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. She was found to have warrants out of Aberdeen and Plainfield. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.

On 11/19/2018 at 11:41 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have warrants out of Dunellen, Plainfield, New Brunswick, Bound Brook, and North Plainfield, as well as a no-bail warrant from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transferred to the Middlesex County Jail on the Dunellen warrants.

On 1/19/2018 at 2:56 am – A Bound Brook resident was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on Walnut Street. He was a passenger in the vehicle and not wearing a seatbelt. He provided officers with a fake name to avoid a summons. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.

On 1/19/2018 at 1:13 am – A Somerville resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct following a pedestrian stop for urinating in public. He became disorderly during the stop and was taken into custody. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.

On 1/16/2018 at 4:46 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with theft of movable property and fraudulent Use of a credit card following investigation into an incident on 12/6/2017. He was processed and Dunellen Police Headquarters and released with a court date.

On 1/16/2018 at 12:02 am – A Manville resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road in which she was a passenger. She was found to have a warrant for her arrest out of New Brunswick. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to New Brunswick Police Department on their warrant.

On 1/16/2018 at 12:02 am – A Manville resident was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road for misuse of highbeams. She was found to have a warrant for her arrest out of Manville. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Manville Police Headquarters on their warrant.

On 1/14/2018 at 4:46 pm – Police received a walk-in report of bank fraud. This case remains open.

On 1/12/2018 at 11:04 am – Police took a walk-in report of bad checks. The victim was advised to sign complaints through the court.

On 1/12/2018 at 10:43 am – Police took a walk-in report of harassment from a resident of Fourth Street.

On 1/12/2018 at 6:11 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after patrol observed her wandering into traffic on South Washington Avenue. She was found to have multiple warrants out of Plainfield. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and turned over to Plainfield Police Department on their warrants.

On 1/10/2018 at 3:03 pm – Police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of an unwanted person who had been banned for shoplifting. The person fled prior to police arrival and was unable to be located.

On 1/9/2018 at 3:35 pm – Police received a walk-in report of a residential burglary and theft from a resident of North Avenue. The crime occurred approximately two months prior to being reported. This case remains open.

On 1/3/2018 at 4:27 pm – Police responded to Grove Street for the report of a package theft.

On 1/2/2018 at 11:57 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.

On 1/2/2018 at 9:00 am – Police received a walk-in report of a burglary to a motor vehicle from a resident of Pulaski Street. The victim reported that the burglary had occurred to his unlocked vehicle on the evening of 12/28 and that a wallet was stolen.
