There are several Halloween activities happening in Dunellen this weekend.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28
CHILDREN
The Dunellen PBA #146 & Dunellen Fire Department’s 5th Annual Trunk or Treat will be held Friday, October 28 at the Dunellen Fire House from 5-7pm.
ADULTS
Avellino’s Pizzeria & Sports Bar will host its Halloween Party on Friday, October 28 starting at 7pm. The event features a costume contest and live music from members of the band Sloppy Joe. Those in costume are eligible for drink specials and giveaways.
The Zombie Beauty Pageant returns to Roxy & Duke’s Roadhouse on Friday, October 28 starting at 9pm. In addition to the coronation of Miss Undead 2016, there will be live music by Dr. Void and the Death Machines, burlesque and sideshow acts, and a DJ dance party.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29
ADULTS
Dunellen’s Paul Nagy brings Vernon Road to Maggie Murray’s Pub House Halloween Bash and Costume Contest on Saturday, October 29. Shot, food, and drink specials will be available all night.
Also on Saturday, Roxy & Duke’s Roadhouse celebrates the induction of R&D regular Quentin Jones into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Featuring Jones’ band, the Reach Around Rodeo Clowns, the event also will have special guests and a costume contest.
Garden State Line will be playing at Zupko’s Tavern on Saturday, October 29. In addition to drink specials and a costume contest, there also will be psychic readings.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30
ALL AGES
The Dunellen Recreation Department’s 67th Annual Halloween Parade will be on Sunday, October 30, starting at 1pm at Lincoln Middle School. You must be registered to be eligible for prizes. Registration starts at noon. The parade path which for decades had gone down North Avenue has changed. Revelers will march from Dunellen Avenue to Front Street to Washington Park.

A Halloween-themed belly dancing show will be at Roxy & Duke’s Roadhouse on Sunday starting at 7pm. A bellydancing workshop will be offered before the event, starting at 3:45pm.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 31
CHILDREN
On Halloween, the Community Bible Church will be hosting a Trunk or Treat outside its church building (formerly Whittier School) from 5-8pm. Refreshments will be served and air hockey and ping pong tables will be available for games.
