Moving to Dunellen, NJ?

As you might have noticed from tonight’s Property Virgins episode entitled “Character Building” Episode HPROV-1105H, Dunellen has a lot of cute houses in one square mile. You saw that we have Tudors, Colonials, Cape Cods… but our town also has Ranches, Bungalows, Sears Houses, Split-Levels, Victorians, Storybook Houses, Queen Annes, Second Empires, and even Condos.

Dunellen officially became a town in 1887 and there are many houses that are over 100 years old. However, there are also newer builds.

If you are looking to move to a town that is on a train line to Newark / New York City (Raritan Valley Line of NJ Transit) and with numerous bus lines, Dunellen is your home! Everything is within walking distance: schools, supermarket, stores, movie theater, churches, and restaurants.

The Borough of Dunellen is located in Middlesex County but shares a zip code (08812) with Green Brook Township in SOMERSET County. This, of course, causes some confusion. Here are some differences: Rt. 22 runs through Green Brook and Rt. 28 runs through Dunellen. Houses in Dunellen are cheaper, but I’ve been told taxes are lower in Green Brook. Dunellen has a Main Street downtown area and all the schools are within walking distance. Green Brook’s high school students attend school in Warren Township (Watchung Hills Regional includes students also from Warren, Watchung, and Long Hill).

Here the real estate currently available in the 08812 zip code.
