On 1/29/2020 at 12:11 am, a Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following police response to the report of a highly intoxicated individual. He was found to have warrant out of Hillsborough, Bellmawr, and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to the hospital for an evaluation where custody was transferred to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
On 1/28/2020 at 3:36 pm, police received a walk-in report of credit card fraud. The victim reported that their debit card had been taken and money fraudulently withdrawn.
On 1/27/2020 at 5:33 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have a warrant out of North Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after receiving a new court date.
On 1/27/2020 at 3:17 am, a Somerville resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Second Street. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Plainfield Police.
On 1/26/2020 at 11:44 pm, a Perth Amboy resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue in which he was a passenger. He was found to have warrants out of Perth Amboy and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail on the Sheriff’s warrant.
On 1/25/2020 at 6:44 am, a South Bound Brook resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit breath samples following police response to the report of an overturned motor vehicle on Dunellen Avenue. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing where she refused to provide breath samples. She was later released to a sober friend.
On 1/24/2020 at 10:58 am, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of theft. The victim reported that an unknown individual had stolen money from his wallet while it was unattended. This case remains open.

In 1/22/2020 at 6:55 am, police responded to North Avenue for the report of a vehicle which had been stolen while the owner was inside of a nearby store and left the vehicle unlocked and running. On 1/23/2020 the vehicle was located in Middlesex Borough and returned to its owner. This case has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau.
On 1/21/2020 at 1:35 pm, a Green Brook resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue. On 1/21/2020 at 9:04 am, police responded to New Market Road for the report of found drugs. The reporting party located several folds of suspected heroin in front of her residence. The drugs were secured.

On 1/19/2020, a Raritan resident was charged with theft of movable property, forgery, and false impersonation. This is a continuation of a previous case reported on 12/26/2019 as the victim has identified another fraudulent check previously unreported. He was mailed a court appearance notice.
On 1/19/2020 at 8:19 pm, an Edison resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit breath samples following police response to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of South Washington Avenue and Walnut Street. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing where he refused to provide breath samples. He was later released to a sober family member.
On 1/19/2020 at 5:21 pm, a female was observed posting a large sign with obscenities directed towards the police department on a telephone pole outside of Dunellen Police Headquarters. Investigation revealed her to be a Dunellen resident. The sign was promptly removed by police and she was mailed a borough ordinance for improper sign posting.
On 1/18/2020 at 11:04 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue in which he provided officers with a fictitious name. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court appearance date.
On 1/17/2020 at 4:18 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50g following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court appearance date.
On 1/17/2020 at 2:17 pm, police received a walk-in report of credit card fraud. The victim reported that an unknown person had opened a credit card in their name and made fraudulently charges.
On 1/17/2020 at 9:55 am, a Piscataway resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on West Fourth Street. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after receiving a new court date.
On 1/17/2020 at 1:43 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit breath samples, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest following a motor vehicle stop for several violations. He physically resisted officers attempting to arrest him and was eventually brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing where he refused to provide breath samples. He was turned over to a sober friend.
On 1/16/2020 at 9:09 am, police received a walk-in report of criminal mischief. The victim reported damage to a vehicle they had parked on the Bound Brook Road. Upon returning in the morning there were several scratches and the passenger side window was shattered.
On 1/16/2020 at 12:24 am, police responded to North Avenue for the report of a burglary and theft. The victim reported that an unknown person(s) had kicked open their apartment door and removed several items. This case was forwarded to the detective bureau.

On 1/14/2020 at 9:57 am, police received a walk-in report of burglary to a motor vehicle and theft. The victim reported that on the afternoon of 1/12/2020 she had parked her vehicle, unlocked, on the Front Street. Upon returning she observed that items had been removed from the vehicle.
On 1/13/2020 at 8:45 am, police responded to Columbia Park for the report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime over the weekend an unknown person had damaged construction equipment and carved several racially motivated messages into the paint. Security footage showed two male juveniles commit the offense.
On 1/11/2020 at 9:49 am, police responded to Dunellen Avenue for the report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that an unknown person had caused damage to the rear window of their parked vehicle causing it to shatter.
On 1/11/2020 at 2:06 am, a North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue for traveling at a high rate of speed with no lights on. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member.
On 1/9/2020 at 12:00 am, police received a walk-in report of defiant trespass and disorderly conduct for an incident on 1/7/2020. The reporting party was a representative of a North Avenue business. Based on security footage, the actor was identified as a male juvenile from Dunellen. Charges for defiant trespass and disorderly conduct were mailed.
On 1/8/2020 at 5:57 pm, police received a walk-in report of theft. The victim, a resident of Front Street, reported the theft of a recently delivered package. This case remains open.
On 1/8/2020 at 11:59 am, a Manville resident was arrested for contempt of court. He was found to have warrants out of Fanwood and Watchung. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.
On 1/5/2020 at 5:16 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of theft. The victim reported the theft of a jacket and cell phone. During the investigation, the person whom had removed the items from the store did return them and the victim was reunited. It appears that the items were removed accidentally and no charges were filed.
On 1/4/2020 at 4:15 pm, police responded to a North Washington Avenue business for the report of Theft. The victim reported that an unknown person had taken a cell phone of the table. Security footage was obtained and this case remains open.
On 1/2/2020 at 2:48 pm, police received a walk-in report of identity theft. The victim reported that an unknown person had utilized their information to open a student loan. This case remains open.
On 1/2/2020 at 12:10 am, police received a walk-in report of theft. The victim reported that on 12/30/2019 she had left her phone in a ride service vehicle and since then received contact from an unknown person offering to return the phone in exchange for a cash reward. The victim was not interested in pursuing charges.
