On 3/30/2019 at 11:57 pm, a Somerset resident was arrested and charged with possession of under 50g marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers were called to a suspicious incident on First Street. Three juvenile males were also charged in relation to this incident. All parties were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters and released with court notices after processing.
On 3/29/2019 at 12:25 pm, police received a walk-in report of mail fraud. The victim reported U.S. money orders which were placed in a mail drop box but never received by the intended recipient.
On 3/29/2019, a Plainfield resident was mailed a criminal complaint charging her with shoplifting after investigation into an incident at North Avenue business on 3/22/2019. She was sent a court appearance notice.
On 3/28/2019 at 1:34 pm, police received a walk-in report from a Dunellen resident of a bicycle stolen earlier that day from the Dunellen Train Station.
On 3/28/2019 at 10:34 am, a North Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue near the Plainfield border. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Bound Brook. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released with a new court date after posting partial bail.
On 3/28/2019 at 9:58 am, a North Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.
On 3/25/2019 at 7:00 PM, police received a walk-in report of fraud from a Dunellen resident. This case remains open.
On 3/24/2019 at 10:16 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have warrants out of Plainfield and North Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail and receiving new court dates.
On 3/24/2019 at 9:00 am, police responded to Front Street for the report of a stolen vehicle. The victim reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person had stolen their Buick which was parked, unlocked, and with keys in the vehicle. This case remains open.
On 3/22/2019 at 8:19 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. The suspect fled prior to arrival. This case remains open.
On 3/22/2019 at 6:14 pm, a North Brunswick resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50g, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon, and marijuana distribution following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 3/21/2019 at 10:33 am, a Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief following investigation into an incident reported on 3/16/2019. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 3/18/2019 at 5:30 pm, police received a walk-in report of bad checks.
On 3/16/2019 at 7:40 am, police responded to Dunellen Avenue for the report of a burglary to a residence. The victim reported that an unknown person had forced entry through the rear door sometime during the prior night. This incident has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau.
On 3/15/2019 at 10:02 am, police received a walk-in report of burglary to a motor vehicle from a Dunellen resident. The resident from Columbia Street reported that sometime during the previous night an unknown person had accessed her unlocked vehicle and stolen a handbag, driver’s license, several credit/debit cards, and U.S. Currency.
On 3/14/2019 at 10:31 am, police received a walk-in report of theft from a Dunellen resident. The victim reported sending an unknown person Google gift cards.
On 3/13/2019 at 1:39 am, a Green Brook resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue for speeding. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober friend.
On 3/12/2019 at 7:38 pm, a Dunellen resident was charged with theft of movable property after the report of currency theft at a North Avenue business which was captured on surveillance video. The report was made several hours after the incident and a court appearance notice was mailed.
On 3/10/2019 at 4:04 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed by police and known to have several warrants for his arrest (Plainfield and North Plainfield ). He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to North Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.
On 3/9/2019 at 2:15 am, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police response to the report of a disturbance on Prospect Avenue. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court appearance notice.
On 3/8/2019 at 9:00 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police response to the report of a robbery by force. He was located fleeing nearby and uncooperative with officers’ direction to stop. He was subsequently apprehended and brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing. The original incident remains under investigation.
On 3/8/2019 at 10:59 am, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card and theft of movable property following police response to a North Avenue business for the report of an individual attempting to use fraudulent credit cards. Police determined that he was attempting to use stolen credit card data which had been copied onto a casino membership card. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 3/5/2019 at 4:42 pm, police received a walk-in report of theft by deception of a Dunellen resident. The victim reported that he had received a phone call from an individual claiming to be from PSE&G demanding a debt be paid via gift cards and that he did send the cards.
On 3/4/2019 at 1:19 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of credit card fraud. Employees reported a person that has fraudulently charged. This case remains open.
On 3/3/2019 at 11:49 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and hindering apprehension after police was called for an individual using his car to “play chicken” with the snowplows. Police arrived to find the man standing in the roadway yelling and physically obstructing snowplowing. He was arrested and brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing before being released with a court appearance notice.
On 3/3/2019, a Flanders resident was charged with theft of movable property (3rd degree) following investigation into an incident reported on 2/26/2019. The charges and court appearance notice were mailed.
On 3/2/2019 at 4:18 pm, police responded to Penfield Place for the report of a burglary. The victim reported that an unknown person had gained access to the residence by prying open a window and causing damage.
