On 12/29/2018 at 12:51 pm, police responded to North Avenue for the report of burglary and criminal mischief to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had smashed the front windshield to his work vehicle, slashed several tires, and stole several hundred dollars worth of tools.
On 12/29/2018 at 11:53 am, police received a walk-in report of credit card fraud. The victim, a Dunellen resident, stated that an unknown person fraudulently placed charges to her credit card.
On 12/28/2018 at 10:21 pm, an Old Bridge resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Union Township. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.
On 12/27/2018 at 5:07 pm, police responded to Mountain View Terrace for the report of credit card fraud. The victim reported fraudulent charges made at a retail store.
On 12/25/2018 at 10:34 pm, police responded to Madison Avenue for the report of a burglary. The victim reported that a person had forced entry through a first floor window and stolen money and property. This case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
On 12/23/2018 at 9:27 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with defiant trespass, resisting arrest, hindering apprehension, obstructing admin of law, and refusal to submit fingerprints following police response to an incident on North Avenue. Additionally, she provided a false name to officers to conceal three warrants for her arrest out of Westfield and Plainfield. She was remanded to the Middlesex County Jail on the above charges.
On 12/23/2018 at 7:54 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Madison Avenue. She was found to have warrants out of Dunellen and Piscataway. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 12/23/2018 at 11:58 am, police responded to Second Street for the report of harassment. The victim reported receiving a threatening note.
On 12/21/2018 at 4:35 pm, police received a walk-in report of debit card fraud. The victim reported a fraudulent charge.
On 12/19/2018 at 8:28 am, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of property damage. The employees reported damage to one of the entry doors.
On 12/19/2018 at 1:21 am, a North Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue in which he was a passenger and not wearing a seatbelt. Because of a warrant for his arrest out of Newark, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.
On 12/18/2018 at 10:55 pm, an Irvington resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue in which she was a passenger and not wearing a seatbelt. Because she had warrants for her arrest out of East Brunswick, Manville, and South Bound Brook, she was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to East Brunswick Police Department on their warrant.
On 12/17/2018 at 8:23 am, police responded to Mountain View Terrace for the report of identity theft. The victim reported that an unknown person had opened several lines of credit in his name. This case remains open.
On 12/15/2018 at 7:20 am, police responded to Third Street for the report of a package theft. The victim reported the theft of several packages delivered to her front porch on 12/13/2018.
On 12/14/2018, a North Plainfield resident was charged with driving while intoxicated following investigation into a serious motor vehicle accident on Bound Brook Road on 11/28/2018. He was issued a court appearance date.
On 12/14/2018 at 12:40 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Front Street. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.
On 12/12/2018 at 8:56 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a victim under 13 (two counts) and endangering the welfare of a child following investigation into an incident reported on 12/6/2018. He was processed at Dunellen Police Headquarters and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 12/11/2018 at 7:06 pm, police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting. Staff reported that a man had entered the store and stolen several items, fleeing prior to police arrival. This case remains open.

On 12/7/2018 at 5:58 pm, police responded to Front Street for the report of theft by deception. The victim reported receiving a phone call from a person falsely claiming to be from PSE&G who demanded a pre-paid gift card be sent to him or that he would turn the victim’s power off. The money was sent.
On 12/7/2018 at 4:12 pm, two Dunellen residents were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50g after police responded to a report that individuals were consuming a controlled drug substance in a motor vehicle parked on Penfield Place. Both were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 12/6/2018 at 8:51 pm, police received a report of sexual assault of a minor. This case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
On 12/5/2018 at 12:01 am, police responded to Prospect Avenue for the report of a drug overdose. Police initiated life-saving measures on a man experiencing a heroin overdose until care was turned over to the Dunellen Rescue Squad. He was transported to the hospital.
On 12/3/2018 at 12:50 pm, police took a walk-in report from a representative of a Dunellen bank in regards to fraudulent monetary charges.
On 12/2/2018 at 1:58 am, a Bound Brook resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member.
