The Dunellen Halloween Parade will have a different route this year.
For decades, the parade snaked through downtown and ended in Washington Park. However, this year, the event which is in its seventieth year, will instead be starting in Washington Park with registration starting at noon on Sunday, October 28. In order to participate in the costume contest, residents must register prior to the start of the parade. At 1 p.m., revelers will march down Washington Avenue to Columbia Park where the parade will loop one time around the track.
Afterwards, judging by the Dunellen Recreation Committee will occur and prizes will be given to the following categories: Preschool, Kindergarten, Horror, Group, Original, and Pets; with honorable mentions given to youngest and oldest participants. The Grand Prize is $100.
In case of inclement weather, check the Dunellen Recreation Facebook page.
