Dunellen Police Report | July 2018

On 7/31/2018 at 11:20 pm, a Raritan resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following investigation into the report of an erratic driver on Bound Brook Road. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member.

On 7/28/2018 at 1:40 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed by patrol in Middlesex Borough and known to have a warrant for his arrest out of Dunellen. After receiving a new court date, custody was transferred to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office for charges in a separate matter.

On 7/28/2018 at 10:35 am, patrol received a walk-in report of debit card fraud. The victim reported approximately $30 in fraudulent charges.

On 7/28/2018 at 9:11 am, a Scotch Plains resident was charged with disorderly conduct after police response to the report of a disorderly person in the post office screaming racial slurs at the staff. He fled prior to police arrival but was identified and charged.

On 7/28/2018 at 7:07 am, patrol responded to Jefferson Avenue for the report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that an unknown person had spray painted their vehicle and slashed all four tires.

On 7/27/2018 at 4:03 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to provide breath samples following police response to a motor vehicle accident where he had struck several parked vehicles on Bound Brook Road. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transported to JFK hospital for an evaluation.

On 7/24/2018 at 11:34 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following investigation into a parking violation on South Second Street. Because he had a no-bail warrant out of Plainfield, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Plainfield Police.

On 7/22/2018 at 9:09 am, patrol responded to Jadach Drive for the report of criminal mischief. The victim reported a window broken at his residence.

On 7/21/2018 at 1:18 pm, patrol responded to a North Avenue business and took a report of damage to a parked vehicle.

On 7/17/2018 at 10:41 pm, two Plainfield residents were arrested following a motor vehicle stop near West Fourth Street. The woman was charged with obstructing the administration of law and the man found to have an arrest warrant out of South Bound Brook. Both were brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing. He was released after posting bail and she was released with a court appearance date.

On 7/14/2018 at 1:33 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing the administration of law, terroristic threats (two counts), and creating risk of injury following police response to the report of a disorderly person inside a North Washington Avenue business. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail on the charges.

On 7/13/2018 at 2:15 pm, patrol responded to a North Avenue business for the report of a shoplifting. This incident remains open.

On 7/10/2018 at 2:45 pm, a Newark resident was arrested and charged with shoplifting after patrol responded to a North Avenue business. He also had warrants for his arrest out of Irvington and Bloomfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Irvington Police on their warrant.

On 7/10/2018 at 2:28 pm, patrol responded to North Avenue for the report of criminal mischief to a parked motor vehicle.

On 7/10/2018 at 1:27 pm, a North Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed by patrol and known to have a no-bail warrant out of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office as well as a North Plainfield warrant. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.

On 7/9/2018 at 4:14 am, a Franklin resident was arrested for contempt of court after being observed in a parked vehicle on Bound Brook Road and known to have a warrant for his arrest out of South Brunswick. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to South Brunswick Police on their warrant.

On 7/8/2018 at 9:29 pm, a Scotch Plains resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct following multiple police interactions for improper behavior. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transported to Robert Wood Johnson Somerset for an evaluation.

On 7/7/2018 at 7:10 pm, patrol responded to a North Avenue business for the report of an unresponsive male. Since he was exhibiting signs of a heroin overdose, police administered Narcan. He was successfully revived and transported to the hospital.

On 7/7/2018 at 2:38 am, a Piscataway resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Center Street. He was found to have warrants for his arrest out of Piscataway, East Brunswick, Bound Brook, and North Brunswick. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Piscataway Police on their warrant.

On 7/7/2018 at 1:16 am, a Scotch Plains resident was arrested for contempt of court following his response to Dunellen Police Headquarters for an unrelated matter. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Woodland Park. He was processed and released after posting bail.

On 7/6/2018 at 11:52 pm, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a bicycle stop on North Avenue, having active warrants for his arrest out of Dunellen and Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.

On 7/5/2018 at 6:40 pm, a Dunellen resident was arrested for simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia after police response to North Avenue Extension for the assault. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transported to Robert Wood Johnson hospital in New Brunswick for an evaluation.

On 7/4/2018 at 5:53 am, a Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following police response to Mountainview Terrace for the report of an unauthorized person asleep in a stranger’s vehicle. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Plainfield Police.

On 7/3/2018 at 11:03 pm, a Piscataway resident was arrested for disorderly conduct after an incident outside of a North Avenue business. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.

On 7/3/2018 at 4:45 pm, patrol responded to Front Street for the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had accessed their unlocked vehicle the night prior and stolen items.

On 7/3/2018, a Trenton resident was charged with hindering apprehension following investigation into a motor vehicle stop which occurred on 6/25/2018 in which he provided a fictitious identity. He was sent a court appearance notice.

On 7/3/2018 at 12:13 am, a Bound Brook resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released to a sober family member.

On 7/2/2018 at 1:14 pm, police responded to Third Street for the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had accessed their unlocked vehicle sometime over the past several days and stolen an item.
