In December, Faber Elementary School students in Gina Viola’s 4th grade class donated pajamas to The Great Story Pajama Program.

The Great Story Pajama Program, sponsored by Scholastic Book Clubs, gives new pajamas and story books to children living in shelters, group homes and foster care along with children in other programs that support at-risk youth. For every pair of pajamas that are donated, Scholastic donates a book.

Twelve students, along with staff members Donna Maloupis and Viola, who participated donated 38 new pairs of pajamas. According to Viola, “Our students were honored to participate and help those less fortunate. This program helps them to remember that there are always people in need and how even something as simple as a pair of pajamas can help them feel safe and secure.”
