Dunellen Police Report | November 2017

On 11/27/2017 at 7:12 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with theft of movable property and fraudulent credit card use following investigation into a motor vehicle burglary on Mountainview Terrace on 9/22/2017. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing before being remanded to the Middlesex County Jail.

On 11/27/2017 at 4:38 pm – Police took a report of check fraud from a Dunellen resident. This incident remains open.

On 11/27/2017 at 11:26 am – Police took a report of shoplifting from a North Avenue business which occurred sometime the previous day. This incident remains open.

On 11/26/2017 at 10:23 pm – A Bound Brook resident was arrested for contempt of court following investigation into a suspicious person walking on the railroad tracks. He was found to have an active no-bail warrant out of South Bound Brook, brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing, and later turned over to South Bound Brook Police Department on their warrant.

On 11/26/2017 at 2:29 am – A Staten Island resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue in which he was a passenger. He gave a fictitious name to officers and was found to have a warrant from Jersey City. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Jersey City Police Department on their warrant.

On 11/24/2017 at 9:00 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with simple assault following investigation into an incident in the parking lot of a North Avenue business earlier in the evening. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.

On 11/24/2017 – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue in which he was a passenger. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Bound Brook, brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.

On 11/21/2017 at 9:20 pm – Police responded to South Madison Avenue for the report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime in the previous hour an unknown person had egged their vehicle which was parked in the driveway.

On 11/20/2017 at 4:29 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with obstruction administration of law for attempting to block officers sent to enforce a court order. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.

On 11/20/2017 at 12:59 pm – Police responded to South Second Street for the report of a theft. The victim reported that sometime during the overnight hours, someone had stolen four tires off of their car and left the vehicle on wooden blocks.

On 11/20/2017 at 8:27 am – Police responded to a Bound Brook Road residence for the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle which occurred sometime in the previous few minutes as the vehicle was unlocked and warming up. Items stolen including clothing, a driver’s license, and several credit cards.

On 11/18/2017 at 2:14 pm – Police responded to Front Street for an assault report. All parties were separated, declined medical treatment, and did not wish to sign criminal complaints.

On 11/16/2017 at 11:19 pm – A man was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop for speeding on West Fourth Street. He was found to have warrants out of the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, and Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Perth Amboy Police Department on its warrants.

On 11/16/2017 at 8:39 am – Police responded to Prospect Avenue for the report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that an unknown person during the overnight hours had caused damage to the front window of their home.

On 11/15/2017 – A Dunellen resident was charged with bad checks and receiving stolen property following investigation into an incident on 9/13/2017.

On 11/15/2017 at 2:53 am – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with shoplifting after stealing a pack of cigarettes from a North Avenue business. Additionally, he was found to have warrants for his arrest out of Piscataway, Wall, and Springfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail on Wall’s warrant and receiving new court dates for the remaining warrants.

On 11/12/2017 at 10:26 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue for an expired registration. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Watchung. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.

On 11/12/2017 at 6:07 pm – Police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of an incident. Staff at the store reported that they had interrupted a male attempting to steal. The employee chased the individual and an accomplice into the parking lot where the stolen items were discarded. The employee then entered the suspects’ vehicle where an altercation ensued and the suspects took off with the victim on board for approximately one block before pulling over, forcibly assaulting and robbing the employee, and shoving him out of the vehicle before fleeing the area. This incident remains open.

On 11/12/2017 at 2:23 am – A South Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop for speeding on North Avenue. He was found to have several warrants out of South Plainfield and Piscataway. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after being issued new court dates.

On 11/8/2017 at 2:13 pm – Police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of shoplifting which occurred on 11/5/2017. Management reviewing surveillance footage observed the theft. This case remains open.

On 11/4/2017 at 9:45 am – Police responded to Sanford Avenue for a report of an unsecured bicycle which had been stolen the previous evening.

On 11/2/2017 at 5:34 pm – Police responded to a North Avenue business for the report of a suspect attempting to pass counterfeit money. The suspect grabbed the money and fled prior to police arrival. This incident remains open.
