On 5/28/2017 at 9:11 pm – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue. He was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for traffic violations and fictitious plates. Further investigation determined he provided officers with a false name to conceal an outstanding warrant out of Plainfield. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Plainfield Police Department.
On 5/28/2017 at 2:12 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested for outstanding warrants following a motor vehicle accident on Grove Street. Patrol was in the area on an unrelated call for service when he opened his car door, damaging a patrol vehicle parked nearby. An investigation determined he had three outstanding warrants from Bound Brook, Plainfield, and Seaside Heights. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with pending court appearances.
On 5/27/2017 at 7:59 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle accident on Prospect Avenue. An accident investigation determined he struck a parked vehicle and was intoxicated. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing where he was found to be four times the legal limit. He was subsequently transported to Robert Wood Johnson Somerset for treatment.
On 5/27/2017 at 1:47 pm – Two Piscataway residents were arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop. One was found to have warrants out of Plainfield, Piscataway, and Green Brook while the other had a warrant out of Union Township. Both were transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters and were released after posting bail.
On 5/27/2017 at 1:08 am – An Irvington resident was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant following a motor vehicle stop. His vehicle was stopped for failing to keep right. Further investigation determined he had an outstanding warrant out of Plainfield. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Plainfield Police Department.
On 5/25/2017 at 1:54 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on Jefferson Avenue. He initially provided a false name with a fictitious birth date. Upon revealing his true identity, police located nine warrants for his arrest out of Elizabeth, Roselle Park, and Roselle Borough. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Roselle Park Police Department on their warrant.
On 5/24/2017 at 2:07 pm – A Howell resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue for speeding. He was found to have warrants out of Tewksbury, Manchester, and Middletown. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 5/20/2017 at 4:25 pm – A Bridgewater resident was arrested for Contempt of Court after patrol was called to investigate a suspicious person on South Washington Avenue. He was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Dunellen. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a new court date.
On 5/17/2017 at 7:17 am – Police responded to Front Street for an unresponsive woman. They observed signs of an opioid overdose and administered Narcan Naloxone. After several minutes, the patient regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
On 5/14/2017 – A Dunellen resident was arrested on South Second Street when police served a no-bail contempt warrant issued by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later transported to the Middlesex County Jail.
On 5/14/2017 – Police received multiple reports of unlocked vehicles on Whittier and Fairview Avenues which had been unlawfully entered the previous night and burglarized. All residents are reminded to lock your vehicles.
On 5/13/2017 at 2:54 pm – A Bridgewater resident was arrested for contempt of court while in the police lobby regarding a separate incident. After an investigation, police discovered he had an outstanding warrant issued by the Union County Sheriff’s Office. He was processed at Dunellen Police Headquarters and later turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
On 5/13/2017 at 2:38 am – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident following a hit and run accident on Dunellen Avenue. Patrol units discovered a license plate at the scene of the collision and determined a suspect vehicle. A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle and its driver. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released pending a court appearance.
On 5/12/2017 at 8:25 pm – A Somerset resident was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled drug substance (CDS) – crack cocaine, possession of CDS, and possession of CDS near school property following a motor vehicle stop on Dunellen Avenue. After being stopped for an equipment violation, he was taken into custody for outstanding warrants issued by Plainfield and Mansfield Township. Officers then located a large sum of money on his person and noticed several indicators of narcotics activity. Further investigation revealed he was in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and subsequently lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center without incident.
On 5/12/2017 at 5:48 pm – Police took a report from a North Washington Avenue restaurant regarding stolen cooking grease. The value of the theft was reported to be approximately $110. This case remains open.
On 5/10/2017 at 2:02 am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with possession of a synthetic CDS following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. Investigation determined he was in possession of a quantity of synthetic CDS after being stopped for driving without headlights. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a pending court appearance.
On 5/8/2017 at 11:30 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to provide breath samples following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a pending court appearance.
On 5/7/2017 at 6:04 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with shoplifting following the investigation into a shoplifting incident at a North Avenue business on 4/24/2017. She was observed by officers who noted that she physically matched the suspect caught on the incident’s surveillance footage; she also happened to be wearing the same unique pants as when the offense was committed. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 5/7/2017 at 2:44 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with shoplifting after police were called to a shoplifting in progress at North Avenue business. He was located nearby, in possession of stolen items from the store. After he was taken into custody and brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing, police discovered that he had several warrants out of Union Township, South Plainfield, Watchung, and Plainfield. He was turned over to South Plainfield Police Department on their warrant.
On 5/7/2017 at 12:57 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court after he was observed by patrol who knew he had an active warrant for his arrest. Because he had warrants out of Dunellen and Piscataway, he was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 5/5/2017 at 4:30 pm, – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop at the Plainfield border. He was found to have an outstanding warrant from Fairfield Township. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 5/4/2017 at 9:13 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court and further charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a crack pipe was located on his person. After police stopped him for an equipment violation on the bicycle he was operating, they discovered a warrant out of Piscataway for his arrest. He was transported to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to Piscataway Police on their warrant. He was also charged with receiving stolen property after an investigation revealed that the grocery items he was in possession of had just been stolen from a Middlesex supermarket.
On 5/4/2017 at 12:10 am – Police responded to Bound Brook Road for the report of an unresponsive male. Patrol found the male not breathing and with no pulse, surrounded by evidence of heroin and cocaine use. CPR was administered as well as several doses of Narcan Naloxone and rounds of rescue breathing. Eventually, the patient regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.
On 5/3/2017 at 10:15 pm – A South Bound Brook resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. An investigation determined he had an outstanding warrant out of Branchburg. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 5/2/2017 at 3:51 pm – A Jackson Avenue resident reported the theft of a child’s stroller and plastic car, valued at $300. The items were stolen from the resident’s front porch and backyard.
On 5/2/2017 at 5:30 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Rock Avenue. An investigation determined he had an outstanding warrant out of Cranford. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 5/1/2017 at 10:28 am – A Bound Brook Road resident responded to Dunellen Police Headquarters for a report of credit card fraud in the amount of $700.
