On 4/30/2017 at 3:27 am – A Somerville resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and four counts of contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop for driving without headlights on. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for testing and issued a court date. Active warrants were located from Bridgewater, Raritan, and Bound Brook. He was turned over to Bridgewater Police Department on their warrant.
On 4/29/2017 at 3:09 pm – Police responded to Kline Place for the report of a recovered firearm. Individuals working in the area observed a portion of a handgun which had been discarded in a catch basin. The firearm was recovered with the assistance of the Dunellen Fire Department and placed into evidence pending further investigation. On 4/25/2017 at 8:36 pm – Police responded to Grove Street for the report of a heroin overdose. Officers found an unconscious Middlesex resident exhibiting signs of a heroin overdose and administered two doses of Narcan Naloxone. After the two doses, the victim successfully regained consciousness.
On 4/22/2017 at 3:22 am – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of CDS, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and being under the influence of CDS after patrol responded to a 911 call regarding a possible intoxicated driver on Prospect Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and was later released to a sober family member.
On 4/19/2017 at 11:45 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. An investigation revealed that he had several active warrants for his arrest out of South Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.
On 4/19/2017 at 5:30 pm – Police responded to South Washington Avenue for the report of a stolen weed whacker and leaf blower. The homeowner reported that sometime between October 2016 and April 2017 that an unknown person had entered an unsecured garage and removed the two items.
On 4/18/2017 – A Florida resident was issued a criminal summons for Identity Theft following investigation into an incident on 4/4/2017. She was issued a court date.
On 4/19/2017 at 11:45 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. An investigation revealed that he had several active warrants for his arrest out of South Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after receiving a new court date.
On 4/18/2017 at 12:34 pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested for contempt of court after she was seen by patrol and known to have several warrants. An investigation revealed warrants out of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Newark, Watchung, Clark, and Cranford. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.
On 4/17/2017 at 9:54 pm – A Middlesex resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. An investigation revealed that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Union County. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
On 4/16/2017 at 11:43 pm – A Newark resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. He was found to have active warrants for his arrest from Mountainside and Woodbridge. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released after posting bail.
On 4/14/2017 at 2:50 pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with eluding police and obstructing the administration of law following a motor vehicle stop on West 5th Street in Piscataway. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 4/11/2017 at 2:30 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50g following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Avenue. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 4/10/2017 at 2:57 pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue for equipment violations. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield and was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing. He was later released after posting bail.
On 4/9/2017 at 4:15 pm – A Perth Amboy resident was arrested and charged with possession of under 50g of marijuana following the motor vehicle stop of an unregistered car. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date and multiple motor vehicle summonses.
On 4/8/2017 at 5:39 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for shoplifting and six counts of contempt of court after officers were called to North Avenue business for the report of a shoplifter. He fled the store but was apprehended nearby with stolen cigarettes and candy. Additionally, he was found to have warrants out of South Brunswick, Cranford, Plainfield, and North Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing, and later turned over to South Brunswick police on their warrant.
On 4/7/2017 at 11:50 pm – A Newark resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and six counts of contempt of court following investigation into a handicapped parking violation at a North Avenue business. She was found to have warrants out of Glen Ridge, Montclair, Cedar Grove, and Union Township. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with new court dates.
On 4/5/2017 at 10:48 pm – Police responded to Orange Street near Columbia Park for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located a victim with serious bodily injury, consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Witnesses described the vehicle which struck the victim and the driver who was idntified later as a Dunellen resident. The driver was arrested a short time later and charged with aggravated assault by auto, leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, and failure to render aid to an injured person. He was transported to Middlesex County Jail on a warrant for the above charges. I
On 4/5/2017 at 2:48 pm – A New Brunswick resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50g following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. She was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a court date.
On 4/4/2017 at 4:09 pm – A Dunellen Avenue resident reported that she had been a victim of identity theft. The total value of the loss related to the theft was reported as $911.52.
On 4/3/2017 at 1:27 am – A Newark resident was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, possession of under 50g of marijuana, and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop in a North Avenue business’ parking lot. The driver initially providing false information. An investigation revealed his true identity as well as suspected marijuana and a warrant for his arrest out of East Orange. He was brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a new court date.
On 4/2/2017 at 3:38 am – A Plainfield resident was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road for speeding. She was found to have an active warrant for her arrest out of Plainfield. She was taken into custody without incident, brought to Dunellen Police Headquarters for processing, and custody was tranferred to Plainfield Police.
