Because of the tough winter we had this year, our roads are a mess.
Dunellen’s six-member Department of Public Works has been hard at work, trying to patch some of the holes. Unfortunately, some require total repaving which will have to wait until Spring (If that ever comes).
In the meantime, we will continue to swerve into the other lane to avoid non-optimal road conditions… And squeeze our eyes shut after we discover a gaping hole in the road too late, wincing at feel of our tires dropping down and the sound of our undercarriage scraping the road.
Thankfully, we also have kind souls in Dunellen who have let us know where to be careful… Someone put trashcans out on Bound Brook Road to make sure that cars weren’t damaged. The actual pothole is not that deep, but flying pavement debris could injure pedestrians.
